Not only are House Republicans forming a select committee to investigate Benghazi, there is now a concerted push from top GOP officials for the appointment of a special counsel on the IRS scandal.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) introduced the IRS scandal special counsel resolution on Friday. Jordans resolution calls on Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint an independent counsel to investigate the IRS scandal, rather than the current Department of Justice attorney investigating. The current DOJ investigator donated thousands of dollars to President Obamas re-election campaign and to the Democratic National Committee.
In a statement announcing his resolutions introduction, Jordan said:
We need this Special Counsel to help us get to the truth because the so-called investigation by the Justice Department has been a joke. The current investigation has no credibility because it is being headed by a maxed-out donor who is financially invested in the Presidents success. The Attorney General says he wont share any information with Congress about the investigation, but looked the other way when information was leaked to the media signaling that no one would face criminal charges. This resolution calls for a real investigation by an unbiased investigator to get to the truth and hold those responsible for this illegal targeting accountable for their actions.

Congressional investigations into the IRS targeting scandal have uncovered evidence of serious criminal activity, which must be resolved aording to the law. Unfortunately, the Department of Justices current investigation has lost credibility and public confidence. Appointing a Special Counsel is a necessary step to restore impartiality to a case that requires it. The person Attorney General Holder appoints must be someone beyond the Administrations own political circle, whose professional independence and political disinterest is beyond reproach.

Could have been the trifecta if the coward Holder didn’t run to Obama crying for executive privilege on F&F.
There is no chance, that the most transparent administration in history, would actually become transparent.
National Day of Prayer....next day....Special Counsel Day
coincidence? maybe
About as much chance as Nancy Pelosi’s ‘most ethical administration ever’ would actually become ethical!
Wow a sucker punch right to ODumbo and Just Us Holder.
“The most transparent administration in history.” You will recall Clinton also claimed that title. Anytime Rats say that, you know it is the exact opposite.
So are you pro or anti Snowden and Manning?
No Special Counsel! That would put their disgusting behavior behind closed doors for the foreseeable future. A Select Committee,yes......the American people need the benefit of sunlight on this corruption!
The progressives have never pushed as far or as hard as the past five years. They’ve stirred up more than hornets.
Anything is possible.
...about time.
Better hop to it before the DemocRats take back the House in November.
The Media is going to throw everything they got at the Republicans between now and then so nothing would surprise me. Today it started with the fantasy Unemployment Rate drop.
Happy Dazed are here again...
Do it!
Do. It. Now.
Trey is now on Greta . . . go TREY!
And while you’re at it . . . make a Contract With America ala Newt Gingrich style.
Be. Bold. Be. Brave. The American People want, need and desire the GOP to be tough & strong. No more wimps.
Did you forget the sarcasm tag...?
That's just about impossible...
The dims need to swing 19 seats to their column to give the dims a majority of one...
Which also means the GOP needs to outright lose 18 seats...and gain zero...
Not going to happen...
There is lots of time between now and November. Wait til the GOP passes immigration amnesty.
Hope you’re right, but Obama was Reelected so nothing would surprise me. It’s going to be a long Six Months.
