los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is battling cancer, sources have confirmed to ESPN.com.
The news was first reported by the New York Post.
The Post, citing sources, reported that the 80-year-old Sterling has been battling prostate cancer for an extended period of time.
Sterling was banned for life from the NBA and fined $2.5 million by commissioner Adam Silver earlier in the week after racist remarks he made were published by TMZ. Silver has urged the league's owners to force a sale of the Clippers, which they can do with approval from three-fourths of the league's 30 owners.

Now some guy's PRIVATE medical records are released?
Hello! HIPAA violation.
That will cost someone thousands of dollars, and may result in jail time.
Just WHO is releasing this stuff?
I don't care what a racist scum Sterling is, he's got a very good chance of suing people into oblivion.
And I hope he does.
She’s bad, but she didn’t force him to cheat on his wife with her. did she? He made really bad decisions. Now he had to live with them.
Do you have any proof of that? As he could transmit hiv to her, I have my doubts.
Yes, you are absolutely correct. One of my favorite quotes from Confucious: "no one can humiliate you, until you first humiliate yourself."
The number of men his age that don’t have have some form of prostate cancer is pretty low.
You live long enough and your cells get all messed up.
I agree. And it’s a shame the media hasn’t applied as much journalistic zeal to real scandals such as Benghazi, the IRS and Fast & Furious as they have to this useless twaddle.
Okra being one of them.
True it takes two to tango and tango he did.
I love fried Okra!
British libs used to brag that they would eat jelly and ice cream upon hearing about Maggie Thatchers death. I wonder how many actually did.
Probably not nearly as many as what is going to happen when Jane Fonda passes away. I think had Ms. Thatcher died a year or two out of office, it might have galvanized few of the haters but 25-30 years later....things change.
You forgot on probably heavy medication.
they are dancing now.
There remains the question of the marinade.
$950,000,000.
Oprah, please.
Liberals and racists (blacks) and race hustlers (Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan, etc.) will be fighting over head of the line privileges.
“Definitely should get rid of whites look how well the non white world is doing and then all humanity will be living at that high standard.”
Also better looking, cleaner and more articulate.
Well, now we know what’s really been eating at him....
Seriously, it’s not like he killed dogs for fun.
His expressed views are an anathema and repugnant for sure.
However, freedom of speech is not like”freedom from speech”.
He has the right to say offensive things and we have the right to reject those words.
But, isn’t there a certain duplicity when the players themselves use the very same ugly words?
Aren’t we going down a slippery slope to “Paula Deen” everyone and anyone?
It’s scary to think and errant word and even ones of a pathology can be used to destroy you.
People of color aren’t pure as the driven snow.
What if the tables were turned on them?
Should their careers become cannon fodder for the language and jokes they express?
I don’t believe the players would strike over the words of this jacks.
They make a ton of money, contingent on their at least playing.
If they mean to make their outrage known, in no uncertain terms, wouldn’t they “strike” until Sterling is removed by Silver???
They could make their point and hasten their intent, to have Sterling tarnished, immediately.
Then they could pledge to take the moral high ground and speak, no longer, using colorful and bigoted language as well.
Sterling is wrong to use this kind of expression but, I have come to understand his behavior was well known before his bimbo wench went scorched earth on him.
Gonna have wrest it from his wife
Yo man!
Eyez luvz me sumb fried okra!
“It would be Ophras dream I think recalling a statement she had made before the release of her latest movie The Butler.”
If i were Sterling I would test Ophra’s (and others) to see just how big their dream is. I would offer the team up for sale starting at $1B on the stipulation of a quick sale. Find out who the serious players really are. But, regardless of how the other team owners vote Sterling will be under increasing pressure to sale because of sponsor cancellations which is a major source of revenue....
