New Benghazi eMails Could Derail Hillary in 2016
The Fiscal Times ^ | 5/1/2014 | David Francis

The White House and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have long tried to quell the controversy around the Sept. 11, 2012 attack on an American consulate in Benghazi that claimed the lives of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others. New revelations show that the issue is far from dead.

Earlier this week, the conservative activist group Judicial Watch obtained emails that show the White House tried to link the attacks to fictional protests instead of calling it an al-Qaeda linked attack. In one email, White House official Ben Rhodes urged then U.N. ambassador Susan Rice and White House spokesman Jay Carney "to underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy." He urged them to attribute the violence on protests over an American-made video that criticized Islam.

Far from dead indeed. Perhaps an intriguing double entendre....

What difference does it make?

The damage is already done.

If she runs and this even becomes a campaign issue (cannot count on the GOP to use it), she’ll squirm her eway around the whole situation, get the media to fan the “right wing conspiracy” flames, and come out smelling like a rose. No way the MSM lets this be a problem for her.

The deaths of Ambassador Stevens and the others may prevent a Hillary presidency—just as the death of Mary Jo Kopechne prevented a Teddy Kennedy presidency.

Doubt it will effect anything. If we couldn’t make Benghazi effect the election 2 months after it happened 4 years later they probably won’t care any more.

Speaking of right wing conspiracy, Hillary came up with that as the Lewinsky scandal was breaking news.

Did Hillary, or any of her henchmen, ever retract that, when we found out the allegations were all true???

Hillary was saying a right wing conspiracy was behind the Lewinsky scandal. Yet when we found out it was all true, what did Hillary have to say??????

And why did the media, and Republicans also, let her get away with it? She should be nailed on that, as she has been nailed on other falsehoods.

If that happens, boys and girls, stand by for the real possibility of our next President being from (or at least having recently lived in) Massachusetts.Mitt Romney was far, far, far, far,*far* too liberal for some (most?) Freepers,it would seem.Well, wait until you get a load of President Liawatha or President “Coup Deval” Patrick (both of whom are running).Within a few weeks after either of *them* reaching 1600 you'll be *begging* for Mitt Romney.Or McLame...or Lindsey Graham...or Jeb Bush.

Derail Hillary in 2016?

History has shown that Democrats do not shy from electing deeply flawed human beings.

New Benghazi eMails Could Derail Hillary in 2016

Not likely. A scandal is not a scandal if it goes largely unreported and ignored. And you can bet if we get a RINO candidate in 2016, he will be too polite to bring it up during the debates. Just as Romney was too polite to bring it up in 2012.

But "polite" might not be the right word here. Perhaps "weak" or useless" might be better words.

Sharyl Attkisson on the new Benghazi email revelation

By: John Hayward

HUMAN EVENTS

4/30/2014

On Wednesday morning, Glenn Beck interviewed former CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson – one of the few mainstream media reporters to do actual, skeptical reporting on the Benghazi affair, and other Obama Administration scandals, which is a big reason why she’s a “former CBS News reporter” – about the White House spin-control emails uncovered by Judicial Watch.

Beck mentioned the fraternal relationship between White House communications adviser Ben Rhodes and his brother, CBS News honcho David Rhodes, who was not entirely supportive of Attkisson’s reporting on Benghazi. She said she was glad to see “a little more light” shed on this relationship, and confirmed CBS News decided not to make the sort of Freedom of Information Act request that Judicial Watch used to pry the truth out of the Administration. (It should, however, be noted that CBS was the one and only mainstream media network to cover yesterday’s stunning Benghazi revelations, and while they gave the last word to White House spin doctors, they provided a fairly thorough report.)

Attkisson lamented the incestuous relationship between Big Government and Big Media, where media figures slip easily through revolving doors to become Administration officials and vice versa – a “perfect storm” that leads to both deliberate, ideological media bias, and an almost unconscious tendency to ignore stories that don’t appeal to the tastes of the joint Administration/media culture.

She brought up the weird hacking incident in which Attkisson’s computers were remotely activated and searched – an incident confirmed as a hacker attack by CBS News security experts, although the identity of the perpetrators remains officially unknown. Attkission said she remains “outraged” by the attack, and has long said she suspects she knows who was responsible, but deferred further questions to her lawyer. Beck and Attkisson discussed the growing atmosphere of intimidation against journalists who don’t toe the Administration/Big Media party line.

Attkisson also discussed the still-mysterious events of September 11, 2012, making some interesting points about how we still don’t know what Barack Obama did while the Benghazi attack was unfolding, why the national security apparatus seemed “paralyzed” for six or seven crucial hours, or why there were no contingency preparations whatsoever for such an event.

The rest of the scandal...

None of this will register with voters in 2016. It’ll be long, long forgotten.

If a scandal occurs and the media doesn’t shout it day and night, does anybody hear it?

No, a scandal is not really a scandal unless the media push the story.

“New Benghazi eMails Could Derail Hillary in 2016”

One can only hope. Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, had a lot of ‘splainin’ to do even BEFORE this particular missive was released, and not a peep so far.

It is exasperating to watch how the anatomy of a coverup is so blithely swept away, as if the mere dismissal of any even oblique references are somehow formidable defense, that the sanctity of the hallowed word of Her Heinous was beyond question.

Why, in the 21st Century, do we even tolerate this “divine right”? Didn’t that die with the Reformation and Renaissance?

It certainly was not imported to the nascent United States in the 18th Century.

Fact is Hilliary is an imbecile and a gutless wonder. The only thing she is good at is conniving her way into political office. Women like her should be kept far away from anything serious

Will new emails that reiterate what’s been said ad nauseum since the event make a difference? Doubtful.
