Charles Krauthammer is calling a newly released email “a smoking document” that the conservative columnist says shows the White House was involved in a coverup of the Benghazi attacks.
GOP lawmakers on Tuesday seized on the documents, which contained an email from deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes discussing “goals” for then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice’s appearances on the Sunday shows following the attack.
Appearing on Fox News on Tuesday evening, Krauthammer said the email shows that the Obama administration fabricated its contention that the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, were a reaction to a YouTube video because the revelation of a terrorist attack would have been politically costly to the president’s reelection campaign.
“We now have the smoking document,” Krauthammer said, “which is the White House saying, ‘We’re pushing the video because we don’t want to blame it on the failure of our policies.’”
Rhodes’ email was sent to several Obama administration officials, including White House press secretary Jay Carney, with the subject line, “RE: PREP Call with Susan: Saturday at 4:00 pm ET.” Rhodes in the email said two of Rice’s objectives would be, “To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy” and “To reinforce the President and Administration’s strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges.”

USA Today had a page 1 story about the Benghazi emails today--very surprising. Usually they make The New York Times look like National Review by comparison.
This Ben Rhodes email is good, but not perfect, because it doesn’t *quite* spell out that the WH *knew* it was pushing falsehoods. In his presser today, Jay Carney still had the nads to insist that this “smoking gun” email actually wasn’t about Benghazi (even though it *says* Benghazi on it! LOL!). What I’d love to see happen is for an investigating committee to get Ben Rhodes in front of it and ask him UNDER OATH who TOLD him to start pushing that “video did it” meme. Because he was just an underling and wouldn’t have come up with that on his own. Someone TOLD him to do it. If he can be made to sweat under oath and tell the truth, or else take the fifth (which always looks awful), that would finally make me happy.
It is time for a select committee. We must determine why this panicked response— i.e. why Stevens and 31 CIA weapons experts (who are throttled from talking to our Congress?!!!) were out on this field trip on the most dangerous day ? Hummmm?
Rhodes was rejected from the slimy used car salesmen group as being to dishonest and a danger to their moral standards.
We knew they were lying... time to 'discover' all the other stories fed to different groups to keep them quiet.
What's that? Krauty, are you serious? WHO KNEW?!?!?! I'm simply shocked, SHOCKED I tell you!
Any moment now, Congress will be rushing to investigate.

True...but the main point in this particular story is that the White House DID prepare talking points. They were directly involved in developing the narrative even though they said over and over again a couple of years ago that it was the CIA.
Rhodes' involvement clearly demonstrates this and exposes them as liars.

Enough already. This Congress will do NOTHING to convict for treason and carry out the execution that is called for. Why? Because they are eyeball deep in it along with MSM.
I have said more than once, this is a trillion dollar heist - the scope is without parallel. Just imagine how sick zero has to be to stand in front of the world and completely misrepresent who and what he is. Very few people could do this....but those that can are his fellow rats.
What I'd like to know is how did this email actually get sent to Judicial Watch and not in Sandy Berger's pants? Fairly shocked that it was released.

Obama is untouchable. He could be found guilty of murder, be exposed as gay, and it would either be covered up or overlooked. “Not newsworthy...”

Even with document in hand, they continue to lie. I highly recommend everyone watch the grilling that Carney took today. Carney was asked point blank where they got their information. He lied by saying they got it from the CIA. And that was only the beginning. Carney followed with lie after lie after lie. It was mind-blowing.
Lying evil administration and this country does nothing! If Sandy Crowly had this letter in the Presidential debate would she have hammered Obama and would he have lost the election? Of course he would have. The evil corporations that control most of the drive by media have their evil leader in office and good men died and nobody does a dam thing about it. God help us bring justice! God help our nation.
America isn’t done—On the ropes but not down and out. Watch as things change with new scandals, new corruptions. After November it will be the beginning of the end for Obama. He will not finish 2015 as President. Watch and be amazed.
