Washington Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee is not waiting for the state legislature to regulate carbon dioxide emissions, but instead has issued an executive order to implement a cap-and-trade program, eliminate coal power and fund green energy projects.
This is the right time to act, the right place to act and we are the right people to act, Inslee said. We will engage the right people, consider the right options, ask the right questions and come to the right answers answers that work for Washington.
Inlsee argues that more action is needed if the state is to meet climate goals passed by the legislature in 2008. Those goals call for the state to lower its carbon dioxide emissions by certain amounts by 2020.
The governors office is now imposing a cap-and-trade system to lower carbon dioxide emissions in order to meet state goals. Inslee has created a Carbon Emissions Reduction Task Force to design the states carbon trading system. The task force held its first meeting on Tuesday and will give its final recommendations to the governor in November.

The executive order also requires state regulators to work with utilities to ban coal as a source of electricity in the state. Inslee has also ordered the creation of a clean fuel standard to reduce emissions from cars, trucks and other vehicles.
And, of course, no climate plan would be complete without a program to fund green energy projects across the state. Inslee wants state regulators to work with Washington State University and others to create green energy programs and initiatives aimed at increasing solar power despite the states reputation for cloudy days.

Boeing has a plant in South Carolina, so I think they might move more jobs there.
And, IIRC, they do not consider hydro power to be "green" and "renewable" and thus not eligible for kickbacks and subsidies....their lunacy is breathtaking to behold.
Insane. These evil Statists want to play God.
I hope after everything collapses ( <= June 2017) that there are enough Patriots who will seek out all these evil politicians from both parties that contributed to our downfall, and give them true and proper justice.
This shows the deep connection between “environmentalism” and communism.
The words about treason are thrown around more often, but the reality there are 1000's of politicians and media types that are truly comitting High Treason against our Constitution.
My hope that someday, once our Republic is restored, that these slime are put on trial for high treason and if found guilty given the proper punishment in the nearest public square where they live.
We must show no mercy to those that are willingly seeking to destroy all we hold dear.
Tyrant!
Absolutely. When a governor/other pol usurps power like this and violates the rights of his people as he/they have, it is treason. He just declared himself king. I don’t know what else people could possibly call it.
It’s very easy to lose faith in the men of this.
Impossible to lose faith in its ideas.
The people get the government they deserve.
That’s a good point.
It’s already happening. Boeing is as good as gone. They’ll shed 25% of their WA state jobs within the next 5 years, just on the attrition of programs that are winding down.
They got the 777X assembly and wing. That’s new, and a sop to the union.
Their R&D is moving to anywhere but here, literally. WA state used to get 54% of R&D spend, but it will drop to 3% next fiscal year.
We got Google and MSFT, meh. Who cares about stuff that actually does something in real life?
I think there’s some truth to that.
I would have a hard time agreeing everyone deserves it.
Have fun sitting in the dark, guys. LOL
companies should just all shut down on day one
yep
Sucks...
they want to destroy society so they can rebuild it as utopia
It sure does. I was optimistic about America as a kid, the 80’s. Now I see nothing good in the future.
Yes, the Reagan years were something else. Glad I got to live through it.
“And it is coming.”
Yes, it is.
