Lol unbelievable. ..I guess the two additional shots to the chest then watching her fight for breath truly needed that last shot to the dome huh? Oh and waiting a day to call the cops that was because he feared for his life too right?

The important part of that sentence came *after* my having referred to Osama Obama....

There was no need to even bring up Obama at all.......

Unless he searched them for weapons and KNEW they were both unarmed

He put down his weapons twice to get tarps to wrap them up in.

After he wrapped one of them up, he then left the room to get a weapon he preferred and then came back and leisurely delivered a killing blow.

I understand that you really, really want this psychopath to have been right.

But he was extremely wrong, and what he did was evil.

She could be faking it and pull out a piece and the story would be a bit different, wouldn’t it? Once a felon breaks into one’s home the assumption is they will behave like a felon. An old timer who has never had any interaction with the law might easily panic and wonder what to do, lots of old timers have absolutely no trust in government, especially cops. He could never call the cops, and that doesn’t mean he did anything wrong, it might just mean he doesn’t trust our government to mete out justice. I don’t either.

Unless he knew they were coming, there could have been no plan.

If they bled to death slowly after the guy shot him in his house, that’s they’re tough luck. They PLANNED to invade the guys house. He didn’t plan on anything, he got caught up in the act and did what he did.

Again, his lawyer ought to be sued for malpractice. Dan White got away with killing John Moscone and Harvey Milk because he ate TWINKIES. He killed them in a government building.

This guy’s 65, they invade his home, and he kills them. May have taken awhile, but all this case is going to do is encourage more home invasions.

He should have cut their heads off, put them on pikes in his front yard, and set them on fire. In between the two burning heads should have been a sign that read:

“I was afraid for my life. Two kids invaded my home and the next thing I know their heads are on fire on sticks on my lawn and I have a Sharpie in my hand.”

There would be fewer home invasions.

If all the facts are as you’ve stated and it’s on video, as in putting his weapons down then getting a different one to casually execute the coup-de-grace, then I would agree some charges (not murder one though). He clearly doesn’t feel threatened or believe they are armed if that is the case. But short of that, in general if someone breaks into your home they get what’s coming to them.

The guy is a scumbag, a murderer and deserves to rot in prison for the remainder of his days.

That said, I am having a hard time feeling sympathy for the teens, who, according to the article, were apparently on quite the robbery/home break-in spree. Getting shot dead by a home owner is the risk you take when you break into peoples’ homes.

I can't get over him sitting and waiting for them and then shooting them multiple times....it was not necessary....

its too bad that this oderous culture of crime and drugs drives some to these levels......it hit his breaking point and now he'll pay...

This is a good verdict. We either believe the law should be applied equally to all or we don’t.

Right, all the other details after he shot the two burglars are meaningless. Whether he shot the trespassing burglars on his front lawn, inside his front door, basement, etc. shouldn’t matter. They initiated trespass and violation of his property and home. He had a right to shoot ...and kill them no matter the details. Beyond that everything is pretentious posing by pompous, attention-seeking dilettante demagogues.

Demagoguery check: What would be the result if these events happened on someone’s property in 1782? The scoundrels would certainly not be mourned or defended by any civil advocate of the Republic.

Unless he knew they were coming, there could have been no plan.

He knew they were coming. He moved his truck, moved the furniture, hid his valuables, built himself a snipers nest, set up tape recorders, the works. He knew they were coming and planned to kill them.

This old timer had a 32 year career as a security engineer for the State Department.

He didn't panic and he knew the law.

He should have cut their heads off, put them on pikes in his front yard, and set them on fire.

What about the rest of the remains? Fava beans and a nice Chianti?

“Summary execution?”

IMHO, when you break into a person’s home with malicious intent, you kind of lose your right to b!tch about what happens to you.

Was what this guy did overkill? Perhaps. But perhaps he did society a favor and saved some future innocent victim’s life.

Bare minimum they won’t commit any more crimes, or reproduce.

As a juror that would have been my decision. The guy would have been within his rights to shoot the first suspect in fear for his life, but not immediately calling the police, delivering coupe de grace shots and lying in wait for the second person were over the top.

"Let me guess the composition of the jury."

All white? It's an area that is pretty close to 100% white, and all parties (the shooter, the two teens) are white.

Your two burglars.

Im sorry but 2 blasts to the chest in addition to what was already rendered the person pulling the trigger cant tell if someone is faking seeing two gaping wounds to the chest and the sounds of struggling death has no business with a firearm. Tell ya what the next cop story that comes out that subdues a suspect and blasts a kill shot to the head after said suspect is subdued I fully expect you on these boards fully defending the cop. And oh ill add onto this if said cop calls it in a day later. Catch the drift? No sane person can defend this man.

The next jack booted thug officer story that makes it to these boards that has a cop with a subdued subject of a violent crime incapacitated and then putting a kill shot into the head of a perp and call the incident in a day later. I fully can expect you here defending the cop right?
Ill be waiting
