Despite being in good financial standing, adult film performers and others in the porn industry have had bank accounts abruptly terminatedand the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) may have had something to do with it.
Under "Operation Choke Point," the DOJ and its allies are going after legal but subjectively undesirable business ventures by pressuring banks to terminate their bank accounts or refuse their business. The very premise is clearly chillingthe DOJ is coercing private businesses in an attempt to centrally engineer the American marketplace based on it's own politically biased moral judgements. Targeted business categories so far have included payday lenders, ammunition sales, dating services, purveyors of drug paraphernalia, and online gambling sites.

This is a case of hanging together or we will all hang seperately.
First they came for the porn stars, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a porn star.
Then they came for the drug dealers, and I did not speak out— Because I was not drug dealer.
Then they came for the gun stores, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a gun store owner.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
They are picking on porn stars because they are nasty people and they hope no one will speak up for such nasty people.
This is why people hate the GOP.
NOBODY is holding a gun to the head of people who are in the legitimate US porn industry. Porn is bigger than the US movie entertainment business, and just slightly smaller than the US video game entertainment industry.
It is massively regulated. People are well paid.
Whether it is MORAL or not ISN’T THE ISSUE. Your elected officials have appointed people who are coercing banks into closing the bank accounts of LAW ABIDING CITIZENS.
Who gives a toss what their political affiliation is? They are coming for you next, regardless of whether what you do is regarded as moral or not.
People who do porn are like people in any other industry. Want an eye opener? Hang out with people that work in DC in the ‘non-profit’ space. There are all kinds of little associations representing all kinds of interests and they are populated by some of the most deplorable human cockroaches that every submitted an expense report. Porn? Simple exchange of value for money, and if you don’t see it that way, don’t buy it.
Lobbyists and staffers? The important part of a vicious cycle of profiteering from the fear that you are going to have your rights taken from you if you don’t hire a lobbyist.
I smoke cigars. There is a group in DC who is well paid that my right to smoke a friggin’ cigar isn’t wrenched from me.
Compare that to porn and tell me which one is more immoral?
All socialist countries have a tendency to clamp down on all non-compliant behaviors.
Exactly how does the government get the authority to force banks not to do business with those engaged in legal activities?
The Government runs the banks.
Have 10,000 in an account? Go to the bank and write a withdrawal skip for cash. You will have a fun afternoon!
So does anyone else find this to be the least bit fascist.
True. But logical consistency has never been the hallmark of big government. You have lots of different people pushing different agendas.
