According to information available, in Romania military units are moving towards the eastern borders - a military echelon loaded with anti-aircraft guns, trucks and ground -to- air missile systems has moved via Bucharest towards the Black Sea port of Constanta. The military units are needed for conducting joint military exercises with the participation of the US servicemen and four American F-16 fighter jets, according to the Romanian Defense Ministry officials told newsmen.
"The maneuvers will be held in compliance with the plan on strategic partnership existing between Romania and the US," Romanian Minister of National Defense Mircea Dusa announced. Earlier Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Estonia asked NATO to strengthen its military presence in their countries because of the Ukrainian crisis. As soon as it broke out, the AWACS planes started their daily flights over the southern part of Romania, taking off from the NATO air base Gellenkirchen in Germany in order to conduct radar intelligence operations which covered the southern part of Ukraine, Moldova and Crimea. At the same time, Romanian President Trian Basescu satisfied Washington’s request to increase the number of marines on the NATO air base in Germany from 1,000 to 1,600. In addition, the Romanian authorities asked official Washington to deploy a squadron of US fighter jets on their territory for the period until 2017.
The plans of an increase in the US military presence in Romania are being criticized by both politicians and the public in the country. An adviser to Romanian Prime Minister Ionel Blanculescu voiced his fears, saying that the US had turned Romania into a "good target" in case of military escalation in the region.

Eastern and Southern Ukraine have been polled multiple times, the most recent in February or March, and they always come back the same. Ethnic Russians, who also took part in the Maidan protests, do not, as a majority, support annexation or federalization. Only a small minority does. There is no popular support for the Russian rent-a-mobs
This is exactly correct and why Putin doesn’t want free elections in E. Ukraine on May 25. I think it is instructive that there is no E. Ukrainian maidan. The Russians tried to astroturf one in Slavyansk and it has turned into a tragicomedy Al Qaeda in Ukraine drama.
It’s becoming clear there is no popular revolution in E. Ukraine. Putin only owns the oligarchs and police there who are interested in continuing their kleptocracy. Outside of a small minority in E. Ukraine the people want no part of his thug regime.
That really leaves invasion as Putin’s only option. I expect we will see Russian Army “peacekeepers” appearing at checkpoints in Ukraine shortly after the separatist vote on May 11. If the Ukrainians resist, Putin will bomb Kiev.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Romania borders Moldova which is an entree on the Russian menu. There has been reports that Russia is ramping up to make a move there.

Or perhaps you think Romania is mobilizing in support of Moldova. That would make more sense, but I can't see Romanian troops entering Moldova. Ain't gonna happen.

Nice try at disseminating some more Russian disinformation as false propaganda, but it won’t work. Russian military forces already partitoned off part of Moldova (formerly Bessarabia) on the Ukrainian border and help to administer the place as the faux state of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) (aka Transnistria or Transdniestria). So, Russia already occupies a part of Moldova and the European Court of Human Rights regards Transnistria as being under the “effective authority” of Russia and Putin:

The Romanian troops are mobilizing into assembly areas where they can be of value defending their own Black Sea coast against Russia amphibious and airborne invaders, including the port of Constanta, fix Russian forces in Moldavian Transnistria to deter their use on the Ukraine’s western border, and be in a position to operate in cooperation with Ukrainian forces in the direction of Ukrainian Odessa.
Don’t mistake not caring along with the belief we have no interest in that situation with Putinista’s (cool word btw).

Romanians are not mobilizing anything. You are fooled by Russian disinformation spread by FR soviets and useful idiots. Russians know what people in the west think, they make big efforts in that area, they know that people are afraid of full scale war, so they want to make it looks like WW3 is triggered off If the west tries to play any active role in that conflict. In fact Russians are afraid of full scale war just like anyone else, they don’t even dare to openly attack Ukraine but send agents and use commie grandpas/paid drunks as human shields instead. It is a weak hyena posing as a superpower.

Not at all. Trying to present the Soviet power vs Ukrainian peasants relationship as Russians vs Ukrainians is a manipulation, or, simply put, a lie. The Soviet regime was Ukrainian not less than Russian.
