INDIANAPOLIS Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin fired up a crowd of thousands inside Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday night to kick off the National Rifle Associations Stand and Fight Rally, saying Americans constitutional rights as envisioned by the founding fathers are under attack and policies like gun-free zones constitute stupid on steroids.
They knew that if the Second Amendment goes, the rest of the constitution is not far behind, she said of the countrys founders.
In her approximately 12-minute address, Mrs. Palin also derided what she argued is akin to a blame the messenger attitude on gun violence many Americans take today.
Gun stores are an accomplice to crime, she said, and that fork made me fat.
Mrs. Palin, plucked from relative political obscurity to be the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, still enjoys significant support among elements of the partys base, and was at times received like a rock star inside the complex adjacent to the Indiana Convention Center, where much of the gun rights groups annual meeting has taken place.

Like I said. The Democrats Never do that to their own kind. Sarah will advance Conservatism and yet you still insist on belittling her.
It is always good to argue the other side, it makes your side stronger. But you are reducing debate to little more than belittlement.
Well Said.
I believe Palin decided (at the last moment) not to run in 2012.
I was also a big Palin fan in 2008.
I don’t know anything about how she makes her decisions, but I do think everyone at this point, should just keep her in mind. That is all I’m saying.
I am ready to give another chance in 2016. I think a whole lot of us should just stay tuned, is all.
And yet when interviewed, she continually states she wants them to register, and as long as they follow those new rules, they can remain here and work.
Isn’t that jumping in front of the folks who remain in their nations of origin waiting for permission to enter our nation?
KC_Lion, come on. Think. This is double-speak.
I know it’s someone you respect, but it is.
And who stood up for, and continues to stand up for more candidates like the ones you mentioned? Sarah Palin.
I am touching on real issues. Immigration is the most important issue we have right now. If it is belittling to talk about a major issue, what is left to talk about. You can’t be serious. Think about it. Please...
Yes, I like that photo very much.
I’m happy you like it, too!
You're absolutely right, Leaning Right!
We should be demanding loudly that there must be real proven border control before well even discuss anything else.
Amnesty and anti amnesty are pointless arguments with an open border. Even if we win, an open border provides all the amnesty an illegal needs.
Thanks much for the link.
No way! :-)
Can you explain when I have run off all Conservatives? I’m real interested to know what the heck you’re talking about there.
My Sen Ted Cruz happens to be one of Sarah Palin’s biggest supporters and defenders. He knows a *dignified* fighter when he sees one. Maybe you should, too.
Scott Walker is for “path to citizenship”/amnesty. No thanks.
Samuel Alito is not (likely) going to run for a political office. SCOTUS is really not doing us any favors, lately.
Other than Sen Cruz, are any of the “dignified men” you mentioned taking it to the left and the MSM on a regular basis? Or doing/saying anything that gets the attention of millions?
Um, Right Now. Ruining Her Thread About the NRA Speech.
Saying "HELL NO" to a real Conservative I.E. Sarah Palin.
Are you on the same thread I am?
Okay, we may some common ground there, but then don’t talk about registering upwards of 20-35 million people and letting them remain. Do you realize the very moment they register and remain, they are legal? They are no longer illegal immigrants after that. They will be here legally, and it’s instantaneous assimilation of 20-35 million more people of foreign origin. They won’t be citizens yet, but once they’ve been here five to six years, they can apply for it and get it.
And then chain immigration starts. I’m not going to be a happy camper when 20-35 million people start applying to bring in 2-7 more family members through chain migration.
Think of the staggering numbers, and what percentage of them will be voting for Democrats.
Isn’t this worthy of debate? We shouldn’t have ra ra ra threads now. We shouldn’t be having places where folks can reinforce their beliefs free from reality. That’s all I’m saying.
Okay, then you think it’s just great to let her make the good speach, but allow her to keep her register them and stay policy, which will swamp our nation.
So you’d rather be able to pump her up unrealisticly, without anyone hold her feet to the fire? Right?
This is exactly the game that was played with Bush. And Bush went right ahead with Part D, and blowing up our economy.
What you’re really afraid of is I will wake folks up to a person who wishes to register 35 million illegals, and make them legal in a few short months.
You’re welcome!
A true American for sure. Name me one person alive today that could have withstood the onslaught of lies and attacks and backstabbing she has - and STILL come out strong.
I like the sound of a ‘President Palin’.
