A teen boy slashed a 16-year-old girl to death at their Connecticut high school Friday morning — after he asked her to be his date for the junior prom and she turned him down.
The girl, Maren Sanchez, had planned to go to the prom Friday night with another boy, a friend of her alleged attacker.
“Yay, so excited!!!!!” she had written under a recent Sanchez’s friends recounted the morning encounter and grisly attack.
“He asked her to the prom right there, and she rejected him,” Imani Langston, a junior who described herself as Sanchez’s best friend, told The Post.
Another junior, Sam Garcia, 16, recalled: “There was blood on her neck. It was awful.”
Sanchez was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife, including in the face and chest, as she struggled with the spurned boy near a stairwell at Jonathan Law HS in Milford, officials said.
The popular girl, who had wanted to go into music and acting and was on multiple sports teams, fought back, even biting the boy as he strangled and cut her, sources said.

There’s a whole genre in country western/blue grass called Murder Ballads. Often its when the girl is pregnant. Often sung by the dead girl. Tom Dooley comes to mind. I think Barbara Allen is also one that goes back centuries.
That settles it. WE NEED TO REGISTER ALL OUR KNIVES TO THE GOVERNMENT. AND IT’S UP TO THE GOVERNMENT TO SAY WHO IS ALLOWED TO CARRY KNIVES. Just wait until someone is killed with a baseball bat or a fork. Registration for those articles will be coming next.
Agreed. Parents don’t teach that there is rejection and bad feelings in this world.... Their kids can’t handle the real world.
A love triangle is as old as the ancients. I remember seeing the play, “Medea” (by Euripedes). Wife is discarded for a new woman and seeks revenge by killing her husband’s son. Even some modern day country music has triangle themes.. “Before He Cheats”, Goodbye Earl, Redneck Crazy”. I’m not diminishing the true tragedy of this case in any way. I guess my point is that this type of tragedy has always happened. Even in my Grandparents day.. they told of a young woman shot to death on her wedding day by a jilted ex. Jealousy (like Greed, Envy, etc) can get us in a lot of trouble.
This is second school stabbing in the last few weeks. Where are the calls for controlling knives as according to the liberals it’s the weapon that causes these tragedies.

The perp is giving his middle finger to the world in that pic. Angry, disturbed teen, not a “class clown.” Will we ever know what meds he’s been forced to take for years (e.g., Ritalin), and how his parents, psychiatrists, psychologists, and school bureaucrats have twisted him. And that’s not including music, TV, movies, video games, social media, etc.
Yeah, why is there no mention of someone... anyone... trying to defend the girl after being stabbed several times, and then choked and then thrown down the stairs? This sounds like it took more than 30 seconds for all of this to occur. Did her classmates just watch this happen and do nothing?
I think you hit it with the instant gratification comment and also the no down time one. I know so many kids today, even young ones, who are wired both figuratively and literally 24/7/365. They never take a break from the stimulation and sensory overload. The human brain is not a machine, it needs some downtime, some quiet alone time everyday to regenerate. I cringed when I heard my nephew and his wife had bought their 4 y/o his own mini iPad so he wanted play with his mother’s. Geez buy him a simple book or some blocks to keep him occupied.
A is A. You may believe anything you wish. That however does not excuse you from the laws of physics and reality. You will still pay the inevitable consequences.

That’s called my two weeks a year in a cabin in E. TN fishing the GSMNP and one week in North central MI fishing the Au Sable river. That plus cutting my yard, doing some woodworking in the garage and tending my garden all work to keep things in perspective.

We do not have cops at schools because there is more violence among teenagers per se.
We have cops at schools because problem students are no longer expelled and truant officers will even round up the miscreants and haul them back.
