We know that were not going to deport all of these people. Why were waiting so long to make these de facto citizens legal makes no political sense.

That’s an astute observation. The same thing has happened in NYC, as high crime black Americans are replaced by a host of lower crime immigrant groups: Chinese, Mexicans, Indians, West Indians etc.
At the same time, crime in Newark, Trenton, Camden and many smaller cities in upstate NY, Western Mass. and Eastern PA are through the roof.
Hell, Ike did it!
Remember OPERATION WETBACK??
Four million of ‘em. Since when can’t WE??
National Review joined the leftist enemy camp long ago. I give no more credibility to NR than I do to the fascist Politico. We are burdened with traitors from the Washington media. NR is infested with homo-loving neo-cons who care more about what their fascist, purse-carrying masters think at the Washington Post than fighting for liberty.
National Review = Wimps R Us.
The NRO has become a Amnesty Porn site.
Please note the concerned writer is a Mob stooge at the Sands in Vegas.
Bingo we have a winner.
Have ya notice all the Amnesty porn pieces are being spit out by the K Street PR firms this week !
I'm right, aren't I?
The jobs will pay whatever is required to get people to work in them, and the price of the products will rise or fall to reflect it. It's called "supply and demand." Ever hear of it? Or do you think that you should be exempt from it?
Stop making welfare and unemployment benefits last in perpetuity, and people will take those jobs.
The only reason they don't take them now is because they can earn more money collecting transfer payments.
Crime pays! Just ask any trespassing foreign national. Bring a translator.
They really believe that congressional resistance is only temporary. Regardless of what the citizens want, I fear amnesty is going to happen.
If we weren’t still encouraging illegal entrance, and illegal activity, we probably could come to an agreement about some of these people who are already here.
But you’ve got a crowded theater with paying customers stuck outside the proper entrance because the seats are full, and there are people walking in through the emergency exits and standing on the stairs, and the pro-immigrant crowd is arguing about whether the folks who previously came through the emergency exits and took someone’s popcorn and are now sitting in the center of a row should be allowed to stay because it is just too hard to make everybody stand up to get them out of the row.
Badly needed fix.
Illegal immigrants don’t get welfare and unemployment benefits. It will be interesting to see what has happened to the one million plus unemployed who lost their benefits a few months ago. That should illustrate something. Don’t know what at this point. Also, I believe this post was about immigration’s impact, not unemployment or welfare.
I just heard about reports that Mexican illegals who are trying to go back to Mexico are being arrested at the border and jailed even if they carry no contraband or large chunks of cash. Why are we taxpayers being asked to pay for jail time so the Prison Industrial Complex can make more money? I thought we favored self deportation. Anyone have more info on this?
And I implied that you were a member of the US Chamber of Crony-Fascists, whose only concern is getting to pay people under the table.
They don't vote either. Honest.
And they don't piggy-back onto the SSNs of actual citizens either. Honest.
Depending on the jurisdiction, illegal aliens get all sorts of benefits and money. Illegal aliens should have their property seized, be arrested and deported. If they return illegally, they should be placed in solitary confinement for a extended period before being deported.
