Illinois Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn says that his campaign did not actually read a controversial article comparing black Republicans to Jewish Nazi collaborators before tweeting it several times to the public.
Quinn has been under heavy fire from the Jewish and black communities since the Washington Free Beacon first reported that his campaign had tweetedand then quietly deletedseveral messages urging backers to read a Chicago Sun Times article that compared conservative black voters to Jews who collaborated with the Nazis.
Quinnwho would not address the controversy during a Holocaust memorial event yesterday eveninghad his campaign issue a statement claiming that nobody on staff thoroughly read the article before tweeting it out several times.
We retweeted a local publications news story on Twitter last week before thoroughly reading it and didnt realize there was an inaccurate and offensive sentence in the story, the Quinn campaign said. When it was brought to our attention, we immediately deleted the tweet.
The comparison of black Republicans to Jewish Nazi came just three paragraphsor less than 100 wordsinto Sun Times columnist Neil Steinbergs article.

D'oh!
You have to tweet it, to find out what’s in it.
It depends on what the definition of BlackConservativeNazi is.
“WHATEVER.”
Notice carefully how there is not the slightest indication of whether or not the campaign agrees with the article or not.
They never say.
Their mistake, see, was to retweet the article without reading it.
Not agreeing with the article.
Compare and contrast with the comments Bundy is being charbroiled over.
I suspect that even 373,417 more iterations of this clear lesson in messaging will not teach Republicans how to manage themselves.
Some free advice to the Quinn campaign: stay away from anything written by that douchebag Neil Steinberg. Unless you believe what he writes — then you have another problem.
Over the weekend, note the STARK differences in the way this is covered, compared to the Bevin and Bundy stories.
Ha, I'd say that's about par for the course for half of the posters here on FR too. I've seen people who obviously didn't even make it through the headline.
So what? Democrat politicians didn't read the 2,000+ page Obamacare legislation AT ALL before they passed it into law.
They didn't know what the laws they were passing were, but that didn't slow them down a bit.
And the American people continue to vote for these people. No wonder Putin, the Chinese, and everyone else consider Americans to be fools. They are.
