Ask Andrew W.K.: Should I Buy a Gun?
Dear Andrew,
Ive always been a staunch opponent of guns, but my home has been broken into twice in the last six weeks. Now Im think- ing about purchasing a gun to protect my family and home. My wife is very much against this idea, and we fight about it of- ten. I completely understand where shes coming from, as her views on the dangers of owning a gun used to be my own. What do you think? Should I get a gun?
One Shot
Dear One Shot,
Guns are intense. They function not only as a powerful extension of a mans hand, but also as an extension of his will and ability to kill. I had a dream a few nights ago where I had illegally acquired two handguns and was trying to sell them on the street to some underground gun dealer. I was stressed out and fumbling with these crumbling black pistols. In the end, I realized that both of the guns were toys and didnt really work, much to my relief (and to the dealers irrita- tion). As the saying goes, guns dont kill people, I do, and just having the guns in my dream seemed to bring me one step closer to actually killing someone.
Firearms may be just another weapon made to cause significant harm with signifi- cant ease, but they arent able to cause harm without someone deliberately using them to do it. Weve all seen the damage people can cause with knives, cars, and a myriad of other implements (including teeth and fists), but no weapon seems to combine le- thal force and efficiency quite like guns.
In your situation, its perfectly natural to want and protect your family and your property, and a gun is one way to do it. But just go through the possible scenarios that could play out: If someone breaks into your home while youre actually there, are you going to confront them with the gun? Are you going to shoot them if they dont leave? What if you miss? What if you actually kill them? What if they werent actually an in- truder, but a family member you mistook for an intruder? What if they grab the gun and shoot you?
At first, it seems like it might be easier to put a sign on your front door that says, This Home Is Protected by a Gun, but that might attract more attention from a gun thief. Maybe just get a security system installed?
Guns are super intense objects. But what is even more intense is mans willing- ness to harm others. The problem isnt guns, the problem is our violent nature, and if someone wants to hurt someone badly enough, theyre going to find a way to do it, gun or not. In your case, you dont want to shoot someone; you just dont want your home to get broken into. If you do get a gun, I suggest having everyone in your family take lessons on how to use it. It should be treated with an incredible amount of re- spect and maybe even a little fear.
The idea would be never to use it, or have to use it. I dont believe that having a gun in your house somehow attracts bad vibes into your home, but it does suddenly allow for a whole range of possibilities that simply wouldnt be if a gun werent there. Fathom those possibilities, and weigh your options heavily. Everyone has the right to protect themselves and to feel safe, but there will never be total security or safety life is precarious and fragile even without burglars or guns. Each situation is different, and no matter what, guns and other weap- ons will always exist. If we put less energy into fighting about weapons, and more en- ergy into figuring out why were fighting in the first place, wed probably save a lot more lives. We must value each others life as if it was our own. A gun cant love some- one or have compassion, but you can. Whatever you decide to do, just take great care. I hope you never shoot anyone.
Party hard, Andrew W.K.

This idiot answers serious questions and they pay him? Seriously...
keep a hammer under my pillow and 15 around the house to make sure there are no loose nails hanging around.
Maxwell’s silver hammer?
I was surprised at the answer, as well. I think that liberals think we conservatives want to shoot somebody. Unfortunately, some of the replies in this thread almost fit that stereotype.
Dear Sir:
I would recommend that you use one of your bras or panties like a slingshot and your lipstick case as a projectille but make sure you aim carefully because you only have one shot. If he has a gun you are screwed. Just bend over and take a selfie with him while he is raping you for evidence later...
Village Idiot
She (the woman answering the question) had just had a dream about guns?
Obviously feeling a need for something strong to be beside her. She needs to dump her lesbo girlfriend and get a man, a real man, not a liberal ‘man’.
Aww come on, real men go out and get some claymores and a backhoe.
And maybe some mops and buckets.
Whatever have the males of the large libtard cities become? Certainly not men. A man would be polite to everyone he meets and have a plan in the back of his head how to kill them if necessary.

Good one!
There is something about the masculine quality of the gun that makes metrosexuals run screaming for the hills.
If you’re afraid to have a gun, buy a pit bull.
Or hang a sign in the window: Beware Of Pit Bull.
That should give 95% of felons a reason to break in elsewhere.
Must be a liberal. Doesn’t know how to decide until they hear the vibe emanating from other liberals. Intense.
Well, Maxwell made sure he was dead.
All I know is that I want the FN90 on the right side of the picture in 5.56.
I remember discussing with a friend of mine what type of pistol I should buy to keep in the home. Should I get a revolver, semi-automatic, 9mm, 22 cal, etc. He told me I was asking the wrong question. I needed to ask myself, not what type of gun to get, but rather, could I use it if I had one? If I had a gun and found someone breaking into my house was I going to say, stop I have a gun, or was I going to shoot him? If you don’t think you can shoot someone, don’t get a gun.
Instead of asking the Village Voice he should be talking to firearms instructors, visit some gun ranges, etc.
They don’t make the FN90 in 5.56 but they do make a FN2000 in 5.56
A liberal is just a conservative who hasn’t been mugged yet.
(in most cases)
My guess is someone suffering form "low T"
Laugh you may, but my mother had a hammer under hr pillow every night. Just in case someone broke in.
To this day I am always amazed that my father never got hit with the hammer :-)
