Sen. Rand Paul distanced himself Thursday from Cliven Bundys recent remarks on race, roughly a week after the likely 2016 presidential contender knocked the way the federal government has handled the land dispute with the defiant rancher.
Cliven Bundys remarks on race are offensive and I wholeheartedly disagree with him, Mr. Paul, Kentucky Republican, said via Twitter.

Race card is dead. Does not matter if he had said stuff like a democrat does. Nothing he said was wrong or untruthful, he still gets support.
Classic Alinsky #12
How did he harm himself, he told a truth. Or is this now Germany and nobody can talk about the master race?
None of this has any bearing on what we all witnessed last week where an out of control, militarized federal government brought their storm troopers to protect a freaking turtle and steal an old mans cows.
Watched the video.
And?
Still not seeing anything “Racist” in his statements.
Agreed.
Sorry Laz but his press conference was videotaped and on line and he did say what he is reported to have said.
No argument from me. I was just seeking to tamper the run on it not being true; I was hoping it wasn’t. They baited him and got him to feed them fodder for their listeners/readers (the left, that is). Out of context, it is. Un-PC, it is. Racist, it’s not.
Any reporter with an once of integrity or intellectual curiosity would contact Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Allen West, Bill Cosby and, “for balance” Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton. Hang, even throw in Spike Lee.
Ask them all to comment on the ENTIRE premise Bundy made.
Bless you prison, bless you for being in my life. For there, lying upon the rotting prison straw, I came to realize that the object of life is not prosperity as we are made to believe, but the maturity of the human soul.

Speaking to his brothers who had sold him into slavery many years earlier, Joseph told them, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.” Genesis 50:20
The bird that refused to migrate
A little bird in Russia refused to join the pack which was flying south for the winter. It refused to listen to its’ parents and elders thinking it can tough it out.
Winter came and It was so cold so the bird froze and fell to the ground covered with snow. A cow came by and dropped some dung on the bird. The pile of cow dung warmed the bird and brought it back to life. It lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing took the bird out of the pile of cow dung, and ate it.
Morals of the story:
(1) Don’t discount experienced advice of people who care for your success.
(2) Not everyone who drops a load of dung on you is your enemy.
(3) Not everyone who gets you out of a pile of dung is your friend.
(4) And when you’re in a deep pile of manure, it’s best to keep your mouth shut!
Run it forward to about the 17 minute mark.
The spin is bad, but his words were true and actually express compassion for those stuck in the welfare trap the FedGov has set.
No matter which way sliced. The comments were offensive. I think he was trying to portray how the government and Democrats have destroyed the black family. But the shoe was definitely inserted. Not helpful, because you know the media will now claim Bundy was basically the leader of the Tea Party.
Unlike Dems who get to have actual politicians arrested fby the FBI for gun running. Thems the breaks.

OH, NO! Take his cattle, take his cattle! /sarc
While this may prove that Bundy’s an idiot with his cotton-picking talk, that doesn’t mean he’s in the wrong on the ranch issue.
Not to me, but the world is full of stupid people, even on our side.

Rand Paul is nor our friend, if he gets sidetracked so easily by a NYT hit piece.

He has been in free fall on a number of issues lately.
This is not about supporting Bundy.
It is about opposing government overreach.

100% on target.
Whatever happened to “I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.”?
I believe the dems are quite content to let this play out until the election in November. It keeps the idea that conservatives are crazy racist in the forefront. I would expect the BLM to run a raid in October. It will not go well and the official story will be that the Bundy fam or supporters shot first. Right wing domestic terrorists of course. Just in time to pump up the dem base for Novembers elections.
