MOSCOW (AP) President Vladimir Putin on Thursday called the Internet a CIA project and made comments about Russias biggest search engine Yandex, sending the companys shares plummeting.
The Kremlin has been anxious to exert greater control over the Internet, which opposition activists barred from national television have used to promote their ideas and organize protests.
Russias parliament this week passed a law requiring social media websites to keep their servers in Russia and save all information about their users for at least half a year.

Egypt (Arab Spring) - Obama adm. says that Muslim Bro’hood is “largely secular.” 2 years later (via John Kerry) they say that the overthrow of Muslim Bro’Hood is a restoration of Democracy.... Go figure.
Now Egypt is closer to Russia than the U.S., after decades of it being the other way around. Yes, Mubarak was a monster, but the Muslim Brotherhood made him look like a Sunday school teacher.
And Obama wanted to get involved in Syria two years two late and this probably would have helped Al Qaeda in Syria more than anyone. Go figure, again.
Now he is getting into this Ukraine thing.
Watch for Obama’s anti-Midas touch effect to, well, take effect.
Putin should just hire Google to keep track of what is said and done in Russia and near by countries.
Then he can buy NSA’s data from Google on Americans.
Some of us have called Obozo’s touch, the fecal touch.
If only we had a leader like Putin to protect Christians from the gay internet.
