We knew they’d try to smear him.
And “racist” is their favorite accusation.

Is Mr. Bundy saying the government is still practicing segregation?
To: BenLurkin
Dingy Harry Reid made good on his threat that something would happen to Bundy, Look for Dirty Harry to get Bundy excommunicated.

Negro and colored were considered the proper terms to use when I was a kid, back then that is what the Blacks wanted to be called; and Bundy is I think a little older than I am. I won’t say he is racist for using that term, he has likely not paid a lot of attention to changing terms.

Bundy is not a politician, nor a TV celebrity. His comments on race relations don’t disqualify him from being a rancher.

Inartful, but true for the most part. Are blacks thriving with gubmint help?

he has likely not paid a lot of attention to changing terms. Probably still calls a queer a queer, instead of "gay".

He used the word "Negro" -- still used in the NAACP title Huh?
To: Drango
No; he comes across as a free man. He is speaking his mind and does not really care to make it pleasing to others.
Blacks have suffered greatly in America — first from slavery, then from discrimination, and now from a paternalistic welfare state that alternately coddles and criminalizes them. It is shameful.

If our forefathers had known how much the cost of picking cotton was going to cost this country in the future, there would have been no Africans imported to this country to do that job.

He is done with being an example for conservativism. However right he may (or may not) have been with his BLM fight, he is now damaged goods. A useful idiot for the left to say; “See? Another racist right winger who....”

Bundy is a nutter. The government needed to be called for sending in snipers over grazing fees, but Bundy is no patriot, he’s a nutter and rallying to him as some sort of folk hero is and was stupid.
To: DManA
I notice the Republicans never scrambled to condemn the BLM for their Gestapo tactics. I take from their silence that they approve. IN defense of Paul in this case, he has been posting about the situation and the government overreach. He acted quickly to draw a line between the situation with the BLS and the rancher's words to minimize any political attacks.

Yeah, keep in mind these statements were supposedly made at a press conference last Saturday and yet we only hear about them now as something that was “overheard” by the NYT. Where are the RECORDINGS?

Just maybe, he is thinking as Old Abe and Bob Marley did! # 1, The worst thing you can do for anyone you care about is anything that they can do on their own. ― Abraham Lincoln # 2, You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves. ― Abraham Lincoln # 3, Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds. ― Bob Marley

Yeah, many blacks, but poor whites too, have been put into another type of horrible slavery to welfare state. The difference is they chose it, it was not chosen for them. But when you consider the importance of the fight with government power, stupid to phrase it the way he did. One more reason the right will be vilified now.
