Rand Paul is a pro-life Senator from Kentucky who appears poised to become one of the candidates for the Republican nomination for president in 2016. Although he has a strong pro-life voting record, Paul is making comments about abortion that are concerning pro-lifers.
randpaul3As LifeNews reported earlier this year, Paul said in an interview that Republicans should agree to disagree on social issues.
Now, in a new interview, Paul says he doesnt anticipate changing the laws on abortion and added that his belief that life begins at conception is a personal and religious one, not a scientific viewpoint.

He doesn’t say that. Listen to the clip.
Paul is a pseudo conservative. He does not appear to actually hold to any core belief. He is the Republican version of Bill Clinton..... Without the charisma.
He didn’t say it. Listen to the clip.
This article is being very dishonest. If you notice, in the article they didn’t put what they said he said in quotation marks, so they get around libel laws.
I Am so VERY SORRY to hear people FEEL the way you do!!! WE MUST
find a way to REVERSE this, it took these POS decades to achieve this
MY GENERATION LET THIS HAPPEN (sleeping) WE MUST believe
WE can change or at LEAST start to reverse it and change minds!!!
SOCIAL issues HAVE to be on the BACK BURNER for NOW!!!! WE MUST START TO STARVE THE BEAST FIRST!!!!
Yes. Thanks for posting his quote.
For some reason this website has decided to lie about Paul’s believe about when life starts. He is unequivocal about that it begins at conception.
He’s behaved pretty much how I expected. I said at the time he was running that I didn’t trust this guy to fight for us on social issues or national security because of dear ol daddy’s supporters in the “LIBERTY” movement, but I was shouted down by the crowd that thinks the best conservative is whichever candidate declares themselves to be “TEA PARTY!” the most.
On the plus side, I do think conservatives are starting to wake up in 2014, given that Liz Cheney and Milton Wolf’s campaigns appear to be going nowhere.
I know. I didn’t always feel like this. That isn’t to say I’m a defeatist, however. Far from it. I just think that we’ve gotten to a point where there are no more minds to change. There is no more convincing to be done. The lines in the sand have been drawn. We all know what comes next. We’re just waiting for the spark.
And I’m of the younger generation but I don’t fault my elders. They did what they could within the framework they were given. Unfortunately they played by the rules and the enemy didn’t. Not their fault. But it’s too late for the standard ploy of putting social issues on the back burner in order to capture more votes.
I’m sorry but we can’t afford the logic of just one more vote in the House/Senate, just one more SC justice, etc. ad nauseaum. It’s a mirage. My suggestion is to arm yourself if you haven’t already. This is going to the streets now.
obama’s white gop cousin? lol! talk about giving someone a blank check.
It wouldn’t surprise if the same crowd who thought Ron Paul’s son was the “true conservative” because he screamed “TEA PARTY!!” over and over would think the same thing about Obama’s “cousin” from nowhere.
broun is trying to appeal to paulites. i wonder if son of ron will endorse broun in georgia. to the gop-e, broun is a todd akin waiting to happen.
Oh goody, another Rino I will not vote for.
I may have missed something, but I don’t recall Ted Cruz’s saying any of the stupid things Rand Paul has said.
I AM armed NOW wasn’t until THIS administration, BUT my eyes are WIDE OPEN now!!!! Little by little inch by inch they have taken over our
education system, our press, OUR LIGHT BULBS for Gods sake!!! I do not have children but the guilt I feel for not having my eyes OPEN for the last 3 decades is unbearable!!!! You SHOULD be blaming your elders WE
let this atrocity happen to the GREATEST REPUBLIC ON EARTH!!!
Even John McCain gave the right answer to the question: When does an unborn child have human rights?
Not that I ever expected him to do anything. He had made too many idiotic statements like: ...WE can repeal Roe v. Wade...
Who is “we”???
As weird as Rand is getting, he still has a better record than those RINOs.
It is not his view of when life starts that is the issue to me... it is that he said no laws will be made to change current abortion laws...that people had to be persuaded.
Watch the video and tell me Rand Paul is not being Romney wishy washy re abortion. It was a tough thing to watch, because Paul was trying to staddle the middle...and all he managed was to offend most everyone.
He could have touted the bill he introduced re abortion...but he chose not to do that because he was afraid to appear “too conservative”.
WE ARE BEING slaughtered with social issues!!!! WAR ON WOMEN,
STARVING CHILDREN AND GRANDMA, it IS NEVER ending!!!! Our
candidates NEEED to concentrate on SMALLER GOVERNMENT,
IRS, SPYING, LAND STEALING, GOVERNMENT WASTE, with our
dollars, JOBS, ECONOMY, ect., ect., worry about the social issues WHEN
we have SMALLER GOVERNMENT!!!!! WE should ALL remember how
LONG it has taken for this republic to come to this, WE can NOT expect
a PERFECT candidate, VOTE FOR SMALLER GOVERNMENT then fight
for social issues small steps, inch by inch the same way they succeeded!!!!
I wasn’t addressing that.
It’s legitimate to discuss his ACTUAL STATEMENTS.
However, most of this thread is people addressing something he did not say. I find that very dishonest.
If he were President he would not be able to unilaterally change the law. So factually he is correct, the law is not going to be changed directly by him (or anyone else) who might be elected President. The fact that he is so pro-Life however means he could use the office to promote his views and use persuasion to change the public’s opinions on abortion ... something he mentioned over and over in the video.
Careful. I almost got banned here for saying that.
I think you are right. Beside, no President can change the law unilaterally (and we shouldn’t want that to be the case). It is up to the people to change the law on abortion, and with someone in the White House who is unafraid to state his pro-Life views, there is more chance of more people being converted to the pro-Life side.
I don’t disagree that some folks don’t always read/listen to all of an article before making a comment. BUT, I am not sure that waiting for someone to get into office to do the ‘right’ thing has worked out so well either.
Don’t remember the last R presidents doing much about this issue even when the R’s were in the majority in both sides of congress. Not pointing fingers...just wondering how long we can last on hope? ( pardon the phrase).
I just don’t think Rand is my guy...for many reasons. Rand is just a bit too too much a chip off of daddy for my taste. I haven’ t figured out who my ‘guy’ is....but there is a ways to go yet.
