Wow, I never knew the Bible belt had something in common with France. After all, you can find plenty of French men with names used almost exclusively for females here like Marie, Dominique, Alexis, Camille, Jean, Francis, Désiree, and Jocelyn.

On the plus side, perhaps it explains why both southerners and french citizens are vocally against gay marriage. It would suck if a guy named "Alexis Courtney Marie" kept getting mistaken for female and subjected to marriage requests from straight guys. ;-)

Rene is another. With Rene and Désire they have 1 e at the end for males and 2 for women, I think they are pronounced the same though. Weird.

Jocelyn? Yikes.
