Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal narrowly avoided getting hit by a train Friday during a press conference about why its important to keep yourself safe around trains.
The politician was standing on the platform of a Metro-North station in Milford, Conn., while the towns mayor, Ben Blake, spoke about commuter safety.

“Missed it by that much”
I have viewed this video several times and come to the conclusion that it was staged. Blumenthal really didn’t even have to move, he was safe where he was. He was as close as he dared though.
We must have more “Iron Horse” control laws.
Sue Them All Blumenthal strikes again !!
“Wouldja believe....?”
Gee, I wonder why they have the yellow line at the edge of the platform. I’ll bet they have a sign at the station that says something like “Stand behind yellow line until train has come to a complete stop.”
I don’t think that those yellow lines were on the platform for just decoration.
attaboy dickie-poo!
Sad that the train did not have it’s mail bag pick up hook deployed.
In this case it would have been "wind-bag pickup hook."
Here is a guy who was kicked by a train engineer while standing too close to the tracks. Too bad this did not happen to Blumenthal.

Is there any hope of needing a second take?
That senator is not Einstein!!
He is the idiot who made UCONN look like a jilted lover in the first round of conference realignment by suing the Atlantic Coast Conference. If he hadn’t, UCONN would be in the ACC or the Big Ten now, instead of the American Athletic Conference.
I’ll bet they do too. And Blumenthal thinks people are so stupid as to ignore that warning, so he has to create a stunt. Thinking like this is why I detest Democrats.
Actually, he was nearly struck by the “Irony Horse” ....
