Thus marks the end of the United Auto Workers’ foray into unionizing Southern auto manufacturing. Despite cooperative management at Volkswagen, the UAW failed to convince workers in its Chattanooga facility to unionize. The union alleged interference and demanded a hearing at the National Labor Relations Board to force a revote, but unexpectedly withdrew just before the hearing was scheduled to start:

This was one of the factors that influenced me to lease my first VW. A free worker class is something I can respect and put my $$$ towards.

Special thanks to the workers of VW!!!! (Nice car..BTW)

UAW gave up because the workers were in the process of proving collusion between VW and UAW.

I think it’s pretty clear that some pretty embarrassing stuff was about to come out…

(I agree — they never would have given up unless something REALLY damaging was about to happen.)

The dispute could drag out for years in court and cost millions. But I remember reading that the UAW only has to wait 12 months before another vote. They are simply preserving their resources.

DNC told them to call off the dogs. Pursuing this now would to tremendous harm to their efforts to make electoral inroads in the South using people like Sam Nunn’s daughter.

Does not mean they won’t try again later.

I agree. The uaw lost the battle, but they don’t give up.

Watch for “accidents” that will start to happen.

actually, the real danger is not from the private sector unions but rather from the public sector unions.

Oh' so right...

Private sector unions have shown a real ability to remove themselves from the labor force though greed, stupidity, corruption just to name a few...More power to them..

Most private sectors unions understand if they want to live, they must compromise...Most do grudgingly...

Public sector unions are a scourge on our republican...

They are beholden to the politician, not the taxpayer...

Scott Walker showed the country how to deal with them...

I think it’s pretty clear that some pretty embarrassing stuff was about to come out…..which considering how shameless these thugs are, is astonishing.

I'm sure you are right...

I'm sure the Obama mis-administration can't handle another scandal...even a smidgen of one.. : )

Discovery can be a bitch, The UAW subpoenaed Senator Corker, I'm sure Mr. Corker was ready to subpoena a whole bunch of Obama minions..

They HAD the election; they lost. This was a hearing to get a re-vote.
