First Lady Michelle Obama is scheduled to address the combined high school graduating class of the Topeka, KS school district next month and some of the students are upset about it.
One student, 18 year old Taylor Gifford, began a petition to ask Mrs. Obama not to speak because there would be limited seating for family and friends. Gifford's petition has already gotten 1200 signatures.

Wouldn’t be hilarious if the arena where they are holding this was only filled 30% of capacity because 70% boycotted it and held their own graduation ceremonies on their own terms?
I found this on the blaze. Don’t know if there’s another video out there or not. Video is at the bottom of the article.
Those kids need to bury their local/state media and Farcebook/Social media with letters and Emails saying “We want our families there, not Michelle Obama.”
Perhaps a few snarky comments about Mooch needing a vacation instead.
This from a School District Board that just made abject fools of themselves at the Legislature, whining about how they’ve cut expenses ‘to the bone.’ buft will waste millions giving Mooch a photo op.
The best thing to be in Topeka right now? Someone who wants to run for School Board.
The article says local “officials” made the request to the WH, but I’d still bet that Obama’s minions used their computers to figure out where and when, then prodded KS to lie about making the first move.
Correct. No one will own up to the invite. My guess is the obsessed woman who runs KSLeague of Women Voters. Admits to having her salary paid by Soros. Outrageous, you say? Yes,even in KS we have a lobotomized press.
So what did the high school expect when they invited her to speak in the first place?
“... nutrition and education ...”
You forgot Race.
Went to my sons graduation from UTA in December of last year. Once again the whole ceremony was mostly for the faculty. The stupid robes that these professors wear are ridiculously stupid in their appearance. The hats look like something a president of Pakistan would wear to the stoning of Christians!.
Who came up with the idea that college graduation was about the faculty?
“Whats The Matter With Kansas” was a book by a particularly obtuse NY Slimes scribbler Thomas Frank who wrote the book about a decade or so ago. He was astonished that most white Kansans voted Republican “against their own enonomic interests” in Frank’s words. He firmly believed that Kansans voted Republican only because of appeals to their emotions on wedge issues like abortion or prayer in schools. Actually, most Kansans vote Republican because of economic issues. And, like most conservatives, they don’t want to be parasites like half the Dem constituency.
These kids need to get with the program, this is all about MO.
If my kid was graduating from that school and I heard The First Cow would speak, I would let my kid take a vacation someplace else.
The ceremony is not about the faculty where I teach. It would be fine with me if the faculty were not allowed to attend. Somehow it is always scheduled when I need to be grading finals. Having us wear regalia is supposed to make it appear that we are at medieval Oxford, I suppose, but having the ceremony in the basketball auditorium spoils that effect.
Anyone know when this event was/is scheduled to take place?
May 17th. At least that’s what the Blaze shows on it’s article about the non-event. Well, a non-event if moochie is involved. It could be a nice event for the graduates except for the educators who will no doubt dress in robes and agulets(sp).
