So Why is Mark Steyn No Longer at National Review? I didn't even find him in the contributing editors section. I do go to www.steynonline.com but reading Steyn was a good 40% of why I subscribe to NR.

NR have become weaselly chumps in the fight against The Mann.

Rich Lowry wants to be on the TV set. It is the reason he got rid of John Derbyshire - too conservative. WFB is spinning...

NR’s legal team is using a different strategy than Mark is. NR doesn’t want to be open to further action as Steyn continues poking and prodding Mann.

The Editor-in-Chief of NR> said Steyn was a vicious homophobe.

There were a couple of threads about this a month or so ago.
Basically, Jason Lee Steorts (Managing Editor), got his panties in a bunch over something Steyne wrote on NRO - I copied the whole exchange onto a word doc - I should post it as a thread, though, just to keep poking NR.
I'm sketching out a letter to send to the Publisher, who had come to Mark's defense. Not a screed type letter, just want to let him know I've been happily receiving NR for many years, but will not be renewing my subscription when it expires.
And to thank him for standing with Mark, and that I'll miss the many exceptional essays it normally contains, and the humor of Rob Long and James Lileks, and the great book reviews.
But I can read them elsewhere - and sometimes we have to make a stand on principle, especially when that principle is a panty-waist named Jason Lee Steorts.

So Why is Mark Steyn No Longer at National Review? 1. Steyn wrote something negative about Global Warmist Michael Mann in National Review.
2. Michael Mann sued Steyn and National Review for slander.
3. National Review wanted to settle the suit. Steyn wanted to pursue a counter-suit.
4. They agreed to go their separate ways.
