No mention of the fact that Hank’s remark was racist.

Another baseball fan named Marion called Aaron "a racist scumbag." Mark called Aaron a "classless racist" while a writer named David said he planned to burn Aaron's "I Had a Hammer: The Hank Aaron Story" autobiography.Apparently calling someone a racist is in itself racist. These are the examples given.

Race relations are at a 50 year low in America for some strange reason.

If some people went overboard with vulgarity and racial slurs that's a shame. Civility should rule in a discussion or even a rebuttal of an imbecilic statement like HA made.
But, calling him a racist is not a racist move. Aaron talks like a race baiter which takes him down to the level of Jackson, Sharptoon, Nagel and the rest. A man I thought deserved my respect has proven otherwise.

I was never much of a baseball fan—I think it’s sort of like watching paint dry.
I guess this guy doesn’t mind having his freedom diminished-—everything they can, they turn into a racist thing
He need to open his eyes and see what’s really happening in Washington.

I'm not defending any racist mail or e-mail in this case, but Hank Aaron really wandered off the reservation on this one with that idiotic and bizarre statement. It's really a sad end to a long life in the public eye for a sports star. Aaron comes across as not only a bitter, angry old A-hole with that statement, but an ignorant fool, too.
To paraphrase Laura Ingraham ... Shut up and play ball.
But since Aaron is too old to do that, he ought to just go away. I suspect a lot of his resentment is based on his awareness that he has nothing to offer the baseball world anymore, and that he probably had no place in Major League Baseball once his playing career ended.

I have to wonder how many come from lefties trying to muddy the water. While I found Mr. Aaron’s remarks insulting, I would no more reply in kind than I would try to fly off my roof.

AAron was a good man but his racism is being returned in kind.

I thought it was rather amusing to see him try to say that Republicans are Really Democrats?? Kind of makes ya wonder why so many blacks encourage other blacks to remain on the plantation. Maybe they really are worried the Democrat KKK will start up again.

BS. They got messages from people that simply disagreed with what he said. Not our fault “they” think dissent is racist.

I'd also point out that Hank Aaron accomplished -- with that preposterous statement comparing Republican elected leaders with the KKK -- something that I never would have thought possible. In one instant he removed any resentment I may have had about a Barry Bonds breaking Aaron's home run record.
In fact, if I ever run into Barry Bonds in a bar or restaurant, I'm going to offer to buy him a drink and toast his record with him.

AAron was a good man... We're being shown we were wrong to think that. It would appear he is/was not.

So...anyone taking issue with Aaron’s own race -baiting, bigoted statements is a bigot themselves, eh?
Funny how that works with these liberals.
I’m white, and I would vote tomorrow for Alan West, for Herman Cain, for Clarence Thomas, for Alan Keys, etc.. They are all black and all good, God-fearing and loyal Americans...but I guess that makes all of those black men racist bigots too according to these sycophants.
That’s the mental illness called progress liberalism...called the far left.
To: Fledermaus
That’s exactly it. Anyone who doesn’t assent to the “consensus” is a racist, a soldier in the “war on women”, etc. But Islam is a “religion of peace” in spite of its adherents who murder people in various ways, and have many supporters.
Why can’t people see what’s being done to their minds, to their power of thinking for themselves? Unless they just want to assemt to the dangerous lies, because it serves theor own agenda? Or they’re afraid of “social death”-social, for now?

Hank, you had a great career, a blessed life that you want people to remember you for.
But when you take one for the Democrat team up the whahoo, that is what you'll
be remembered for the most.
