Federal Fire Power: Instead of putting a lien on the property of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, the Bureau of Land Management surrounded his ranch with 200 armed agents. It's not the only agency with a private army.
Back in 2008, candidate Barack Obama slipped a little-noticed line in a speech, proposing a national police force reporting straight to him.
"We cannot continue to rely only on our military," he said. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
As our military is slowly decimated by his policies and budget cuts and with federal agencies arm to the teeth we may be seeing what he had in mind at the ranch of a 67-year-old Nevadan.
Agents of a federal agency that many Americans were surprised to see so heavily armed even herded American citizens into "First Amendment zones," another surprise to those who thought the Constitution made the entire U.S. such a zone.
"The government's option," said Fox News contributor and former Judge Andrew Napolitano, "is to take the amount of money (Bundy) owes them and docket it that is, file the lien on his property. The federal government could have done that.
"Instead, they wanted this show of force. They swooped in . . . with assault rifles aimed and ready and stole this guy's property, they stole his cattle. They didn't have the right to do that. That's theft, and they should have been arrested by state officials."
The Environmental Protection Agency also has a private army. In late August 2013, armed EPA agents joined agents of the Alaska Environmental Crimes Task Force and swarmed gold mines near Chicken in the Last Frontier State.

Welcome to the party Investors.com.
Many of us have been ‘bewaring’ the militarization of our government for many years.
It should be pointed out to the writer of the article that Obama’s “little-noticed line” from 2008 was NOT “little noticed” in SOME circles.
Quite a few of us knew, and continue to know, exactly what he meant by it.
Wasn't it Jefferson that said, with regard to democracy, a little blood in the street needed to happen every 20 years?
...and it is not dependent upon the use of foreign troops.
No, I think that was Clemenza in the Godfather - and it was every 10 years.
Jefferson was a little more poetic:
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
;-)
Absolutely not. And IMNSHO, bureaucrats waging economic and political warfare against "We The People" are just as serious treasonous offenses as occasionally burglarizing residences, murdering citizens, and burning their families.
There is indeed the matter of the 300+ million privately owned firearms in the US. The brownshirts need to remember to be polite and a little bit humble when planning moves to push regular folks around. The National Park brownshirts pushed their luck about as far as they had room to with the recent monument closings-—they need to pass that around the alphabets.
Yeah, I remember it too Wayne - - kinda wish our concern had been misplaced ....
DINGY HARRY PING
LOL! When the next Koch brothers assault supposed to begin? Some reid-iculous sycophant here in Reno had a letter to the editor today spouting the evil Koch line. They were taking notes from hairy’s last screed about them. No mention that they are way down the list of political contributers and pale in comparison to the unions and uber rich self loathing folks.

Ballistic CALCFORMS How to Use / Introduction
I hope everyone on this forum decides they want to become an expert shooter and learn how to hit a 5 gallon bucket at 1000 yards with their first shot. It a challenge that's worth your time. That I'll guarantee you.
President Cruz will soon be in charge of these armies along with Secretary Palin, Paul and Gowdy.
Because Congress, both Republican and DemocRAT, continue to fund these armies.
Yes, it seems to be a matter of definition.
They could say that the heavily armed federal agencies don’t have nukes, so they’re not a “military unit”,
and we could say they shouldn’t have pointy sticks.
If they’re a law enforcement agency, they need a means of enforcement, but they don’t need APCs & automatic rifles.
In that case the Marines aren’t a military unit either.
I was using extremes of definition to show how each side might try to justify its position.
(pssst... don’t tell Obama your theory or he’ll use the Marines in the next ranch standoff)
Hey, Feds! Beware The Increasing Militarization Of Citizenry!!!
Don’t believe they are covered by Posse Comitatus either...
Let it be so!!
That's outrageous, and it can't be Constitutional. This needs to be a major campaign issue this fall and beyond.
