Former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.) wants members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to hold a hearing on "preventing gun violence against women," the first step to passing (gun control) legislation, she says.
"[M]any of those who perpetrate violence against women are still allowed easy access to firearms," Giffords wrote this month in an open letter to the Judiciary Committee.
Giffords writes that women are more likely than men to be killed or stalked by an intimate partner; and she says having a gun in a household with a history of domestic violence makes it much more likely that a women will be killed there.

Why is he on the streets at all. That's insane.
Don’t leave home without it.
Last thanksgiving, one of the teenage girls at the dinner was being teased about her height.
I said:
I’m only 5:3, but I play a Full-Sized Bass, Ride a Full-Sized Harley, and shoot a Full-Sized GUN!
“Who keeps trotting her out like this?”
Her husband allows it, the A$$hat Astronut.
What a disgusting leech he is.
> There really should be a law against shooting a woman.
I once put three M16 rounds into the chest of a young woman who was shooting at me (Quang Tri Province, Viet Nam, 1970). After she was no longer an immediate threat, I took her AK47 out of her hand, brought the bleeding under control and got her on a helicopter to a hospital, where they patched her up, kept her for a few days and the shipped her to a women’s POW camp. There are circumstances where a women needs to be shot.
A woman is just as capable of violence as a man.
Here is CA, if your “Spouse” decides to file a Restraining Order against you, you have to turn in your Firearms.
The is no Due Process, period. It appears that anyone can say anything about you, true or not, and you will be forced to capitulate your God Given Right to Self Defense to the State. Good luck getting your Guns back if the Restraining Order is cancelled or overturned.
Of course, if you were so inclined, you could Stab your “Spouse” with an Assault Knife or run her over with an Assault Chevy.
You want to prevent gun violence again women Gabby? Then push for them to own guns.
Good shooting Bro!!! I was in Northern I Corp (C-2 A-4 Dong Ha Khe Sahn, Rockpile, Cam Lo Vandergrift) in that same time frame!!! Who knows, you mighta kept her from plugging me!!! Thanks a bunch.

What about Taser violence against women? She’s got no problem with that I presume.
To prevent violence against women, get them into a CCW class.
Thanks for your service, BuffaloJack!
I have to say that’s not the most stirring endorsement for 5.56mm that I’ve ever heard. Still, you did your job, and I suppose it did its, in a fashion.
I like what you did there. Work in how evil American guns are harming gay Mexicans, and you can have a future in government.

I do not endorse the M16 rifle. Earlier in the same fire fight, I had to take the damn thing apart and remove a bent cartridge that was jammed in the breech. You have no idea how fast you can repair a rifle unless you have to.
I had a close family friend who was a Marine sharpshooter in Vietnam. He hated the M16 and was not bashful in telling you why. He managed to hold on to his M14 during multiple tours of duty.
“...because gun violence against men is perfectly acceptable!”
This woman was my representative. I spent many an afternoon protesting on her office’s street corner, where she was never in residence. She ducked all the meetings we had set up with her. I heard her complain that people who talk to her about politics on the planes home (Texas with her husband) was wearisome.
She seems more active politically now.
One of the people who disarmed the gunman was a woman, who was on the ground. She knew how to drop the magazine out of his weapon (press the button) and was brave and practiced to do this in the middle of a squabble. One of the men had a gun on him, but did not want to use it in close quarters. He strong-armed the killer instead.
Idiot Giffords, used pictures of herself at the shooting range, but wants to deny other women and their husbands guns and target practice.
Good riddance. Your husband looks like bald Lauffner and his political ambitions to ride on your coat tails is blatantly obvious and repulsive.
One of the people who died was a judge, Judge Roberts. He was a Republican, a devout Catholic, who went to church every day. He used his body to cover another.
You never hear about this hero. I met his family at a Mass for him to receive posthumously the St Thomas medal. At the Mass, it was never mentioned how he had died and how, as Jesus had preached, did what the greatest thing one can do, is die for another.
A man covered his wife, but she died.
God Bless you forever Judge Roberts, you are who we should always remember on that tragic day in Tucson.
