SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Tuesday is the next -- and last -- big deadline within the NY Safe Act, and many gun owners plan to defy it by not registering their guns under the state's new definition of assault weapons. One columnist in Forbes writes as many as 1 million gun owners in New York will not register their guns as assault weapons.

Today is the deadline for New York gun owners to register their so-called "assault weapons" in accordance with the SAFE Act. Nobody I know is doing it. Heck, I lost my rifles in a boating accident!

Any pistol, revolver, shotgun or rifle is an assault weapon.
If used for that purpose.
Same as a knife, a baseball bat, your car etc.
Registration like this is not about safety for the citizens but about safety for the Government

If the people in Connecticut and New York will stand up that’s a pretty good sign.

There are a few “optics” problems with the BLM SWAT teams descending on a Nevada rancher.

Does anybody think folks are going to set the stage for government disarmament of civilians?

I sold my weapons to a friend of a friend a year ago. He and his buddy said they were moving to Brokeback Mountain Montana and that was the last I saw of him

LOVE all the Gadsden flags in tha picture. I think we should find the cheapest possible source for the stickers, and start placing them all over in strategic places. I saw one flag tied to the fencing on a freeway overpass here in metro Detroit last week. Warms the heart.

Anyhow, the stickers could be the modern day “Who is John Galt” message. We are here, and not going away. I suppose technically it could be considered vandalism?

We need to open mulitiple fronts. One is for Congress to begin the devolution of this government by disarming these agencies. What did each agency have for weaponry 5 to 10 years ago. Demand a return for that.

I think we’ve reached the tipping point when it comes to serious resistance to this sort of thing.

CT showed that it can be done. The Bundy Ranch showed why people increasingly feel it needs to be done.

We’re now at the point where this is snowballing/cascading ...

"Does anybody think folks are going to set the stage for government disarmament of civilians?"

Registration is how it always starts, that's why everyone should refuse.

I wonder what the heroes in blue will do when their political masters tell them to enforce this law. Probably make an example of a few, but what will happen if they start to meet resistance? Police are brave when they're going against a single opponent where they have a numerical advantage of 20 to one, but if they wanted to go into armed conflict with an enemy who could fight back they'd have joined the military.

Whatever happens, the liberal cesspool of NYC won't be affected they're already disarmed serfs.

Refusal to register creates felons in this law.

Individuals do not have the resources to fight the state one on one. They hae lost the moment charges are filed, as answering the chargs will bankrupt them.

Their best bet is to bulldoze their property and move to a free state, NY is lost to the NWO.

I wouldn't have my name entered into any kind of leftist gun ownership database either. The leftists want our names and addresses and their tyranny is only just getting started. That should be clear to anyone that considers himself a conservative. As their power grows, so will their corruption and intolerance for dissent and so will their extremism. They're already talking about electronic bracelets for gun owners. It will never end, it will only get more and more extreme. Hold the line today or you'll be a slave tomorrow.

Dark days indeed

And despite what the FR jackboot licking contingent says about the police being "on our side," As someone pointed out yesterday for every government agent who says "No I won't do this to my fellow citizens." there is another just waiting who will say "Well I will."

The important thing is that the officers get home to their families safely.

Just keep reminding them of that. They'll know what to do.

It is good to see the citizens of this country do this. Civil disobedience is called for and legal when an unconstitutional law has been passed such as this one. What can the government do if a good number of people refuse to obey this law? Registration is first followed by confiscation after an incident such as happened in Newtown. Most people are not fools. They know why the government wants guns registered.

“What did each agency have for weaponry 5 to 10 years ago. Demand a return for that.”

The local 24 hour news channel ran a segment on our police getting more money for buying weapons. In addition to other stuff, the police are buying 45 new rifles because “they are often outgunned by the criminals”.

The odd thing was the news channel made no mention of the kind & caliber of weapons the criminals were using to outgun the police. Nor, did they mention the kind & caliber of rifles the police are purchasing.

What the news did do...they flashed up pictures of SWAT-looking police walking around with AR-15 type rifles (AND, I bet you they were automatic weapons...not semi-auto)...even displaying a picture of a lovely looking MRAP type vehicle.

The first question I screamed at the TV...”What kind of weapons are the bad guys using to outgun the police?” The next question was...”What are the police buying?”

None of these “details” seemed to interest the “news” channel, and we’re not divulged in their “reporting”.

If our local police are ALREADY walking around with M4/M16’s and driving MRAP type vehicles...what in the world are the bad guys using?
