I cannot support this. I do not trust what would come out of such a thing.
I understand the intentions are very good, and they want to do it in a controled way with a limited agenda. I fear it would soon get out of control and the agenda twisted.
Goodness, look at this forum of supposed “conservatives.” It is overrun with libertarian Ron Paul supporters and that ilk. I WOULD NEVER let Libertarians have an opportunity to screw this country up - they are as bad as liberals. Such a convention could be their vehicle to do so.
I cannot support it and would actively oppose it.
Article V ping.
what’s your plan?
you do realize that, aside for a few short delays (eg Reagan),
the country has been moving further and further away from the Constitution for over 100 years. It is a trajectory.
Do you want to try to slow it down, stop it, or reverse it?
Mark Levin has written a book- The Liberty Ammendments- that explains in great detail how the process will work. Article 5 bypasses Congress and the Executive branch and lets the States pass ammendments. One of the first would be term a limit of 12 years of legislative service. Another would let the states overrule a Supreme Court decision.
he points out that this is a way to stop an overreaching federal government - exactly what we have now. It lets the states protect our freedom and the Constitution.
Since the Santilli rant that brought about the current Tea Party movement, how many individuals, politicians and political groups have tried to co-opt the movement for their own personal preferences?
What makes anyone think that the progressives/Libs/Soros-type money men, etc., won’t do the same?

I am not convinced. I don’t trust any current political concern, regardless of party or political philosophy, to tinker with the current Constitution.
You need to do your homework.
