PLEASE pray for Ukraine. Their military has much heart, but not have the technology, training and military supplies. They are facing mercenary Afghan/Kosevo hardened troops. I do understand patriotism. My own son wanted to enlist after 9-11. But, violence and death is such a waste of these young men. Please pray.. please pray

The protesters are calling for the resignation of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov. Protesters in Kyiv and elsewhere have expressed frustration at the government’s reluctance to send troops to eastern Ukraine to combat the separatist movements that are devouring large areas of the country. - KyivPost

Does the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances that Clinton signed 12/5/1994 mean anything?

How long until an Obama world results in China reclaiming Taiwan? Poland, Estonia, go back to the Russians? The Faulklands go back to Argentina?

Alaska next?

Well... The Russians didn't really do any fighting in Kosovo. They just squatted on an airport for a while. And as for Afghanistan, are you kidding? The youngest of those Russian soldiers would be in their mid forties now. If there are any experienced Russian troops lined up on the Ukrainian border they got their experience fighting in Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Ossetia, and Georgia. Most of the fighting in those places amounted to homicidal policing, not combat. Pity the Ukrainian civilians if they do invade and the Ukrainian army can't repel them.

Not with Clinton, Obama, Reid, Boehner, Pelosi, et al in office.

No, because it was never legally ratified in the US by Congress. Besides, did Monica’s blue dress mean anything?

Obama has had nearly as much luck getting Taiwan admit to and get rid of their nuclear arsenal as he has had with Israel.

Obamatism only works on Muslims, evidently.

It meant nothing the day it was signed...it was just a ploy to get the ICBMs away from the Ukrainians.

Best that could possibly happen now is to hold free elections immediately and also allow an internationally observed referendum in the east.

Military escalation will just get a lot of boys killed and wind up with Russia in control of the east/south if not Kiev itself.

Exactly! The East is Russian and the West is Slavic, it’s just the way it is. In some places, desegregation just doesn’t work.

I find it kind of weird that Ukraine appointed an academic in what appears to be the field of sociology to the position of Interior Minister which, in Europe, typically is in charge of keeping public order and has under his thumb, both police and paramilitary forces. For instance, the revolt in Chechnya was put down, in large part, by Russia's Interior Ministry. A lot of Interior Ministers are ex-cop or ex-military. Appointing a scribbler to a position that requires a doer in a time of undeclared war by Russia is just mind-boggling.

Seesharp.. sorry I meant Chechnya. But, I am reading so many posts (thru GOOGLE TRANSLATE)
Right now literally ‘the call’ has gone out with lists of phone numbers to enlist. All ages are signing up.
PLEASE pray. Their weapons are outdated & few.

Zhang Fei You have to understand. Russian take over has been planned for 7 years. Putin had arranged for key figures to be put in place.

I am a Christian. I have faith in God, but my understanding of evil attacks my faith. PLEASE pray for Ukraine ot stay united

If the Ukrainians do fight, I'd pity the Russian troops. Chechnya plus its Caucasian cousins came to a few million people in postage stamp-sized areas. Ukraine is the size of Texas with 50m people. Armed with captured WWII weaponry, Bandera and his men killed 30K Russians and collaborators in a period of 10 years. Nobody knows how things will play out, but a rerun of the partition of Yugoslavia will see, at minimum, tens of thousands of Russians going home in body bags.

I understand the ethnic/economic divisions. Perhaps a comparable would be if Mexico invaded... oh that’s right they already are! But, seriously.

Putin is NOT well liked except by those on the take. Hitler was at first appreciated because of German’s shame & economic crisis following WWI. Well, Russia is similarly conflicted. You may not understand (or heard) that in Russia there is huge support (& protests) for Ukraine.

Obama is a muslim. He arms the muslim brotherhood and Islamist insurgents in Syria, but won’t have anything to do with sending arms to western Ukrainians.
Hey Congress, can we impeach him and dump him yet?
Oh I forgot, Harry Reid is too busy killing cattle and their calves so he can build worthless solar panels.
