This is the power of social media. This is the power of personal video cameras. This is the power of citizen journalists. And the next time Senator Feinstein calls for licencing only legitimate journalists, that the 1st Amendment only extends to people who work at the New York Times, Washington Post, or MSNBC, remember this moment. This is how the bullies with the power, the cronies and their allies, are turned back.
Dianne Feinstein First Amendment Is A Special Privilege
This is not about a rancher owing the Bureau of Land Management money. This is about a federal government which just assumed control of public land years ago (not government land like military bases or federal courthouses though the taxpayers do pay for these too) changing the rules and telling citizens to lump it. Its about a central authorities passing regulations in Washington with little regard, indeed contempt for the little guy out in flyover country.
Well the little guy stood up this time and other little guys came to his aid. This is how its done. Film it. Share it. Get the word out.
And always remember your 1st Amendment right. It is the 1st Amendment for a reason.
(From ABC News)However, today the BLM said it would not enforce a court order to remove the cattle and was pulling out of the area.
Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public, BLM Director Neil Kornze said.
We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner, he said.
The roundup began April 5, following lengthy court proceedings dating back to 1993, federal officials said. Federal officers began impounding the first lot of cows last weekend, and Bundy responded by inviting supporters onto his land to protest the action.
Its not about cows, its about freedom,
The issue isn’t the popularity of the target, it’s the pattern of illegal and often violent abuse of unarmed citizens by BLM officers.
Gotcha. I have a brother-in-law that lives in Reno and he hates them. Buncha filthy hippies.
I think it might be both for some people. It's not to the thinkers among us (FReepers), but the LIVs won't give a crap if they don't like the victims of government tyranny.
Adverse possession in Nevada is tough, But if I was a lawyer on this I would try it.
Won’t work, the order orders Bundy to remove, but only authorizes the BLM to do so, they weren’t ordered and they made a good faith attempt at complying.
So that argument won’t fly.
Don’t miss post 85!
Need confirmation from second source
More likely to catch cattle than feds, though. Or whatever other critters wander around there.
Aren’t Tuesdays the days when Obama goes over his “kill list”?
It’s like a Casino. The “house” can afford their losing streaks, and wait for luck to turn. I cant afford my losing streaks, so I leave it on the table. That’s why I don’t gamble.
Anyone can be defamed in the media, which would provide to the low-information masses sufficient motive for any overreaching government action.
It’s up to the informed to document and distribute contrary facts, particularly when they question the official story.
If we’re at war, and I would consider an action like blinding the American people to be an act of war... Generals are not immune from military action, ergo truncate.
One problem with that article. The solar farm is not proposed for the area around Bunkerhill. The area around Bunkerhill is the damage “offset” area.
1. BLM gives in. (not happening).
2. Negotiated settlement of some kind. (Not likely)
3. Higher court gets involved. (Settled law, again not likely)
Bunkerhill=Bunkerville.
Sigh, new device....
Regarding post 85 and Chinese ownership. A lot of this is new to me. But as the expert on reid, I can tell you that a LOT of weird things have been going on regarding energy and I’ve long had the suspicion thatHarry has been trying to corner the market.
I did Yucca Mountains stuff in early 90s, wrote whole book regarding corruption and Reid is in it.
I will write an article, should be blockbuster. But I am inundated right now so patience. I’m dealing with almost 400,000 words of my writing and research. One nasty stinking swamp of Dem corruption.. If people only knew.
Time. You need the gift of time!
From what I observed, the Sheriff did not do anything after the rancher asked him to do his duty. I saw the interview with the rancher...that’s what he said and he didn’t see like the type that engages in hyperbole.
You might want to read Pastor Niemoller’s poem when you get the chance.

After reading more on this Sheriff, you are right, the Sheriff did nothing to help his constituent.
I also found evidence he is in Reid’s camp, if not his back pocket.
Thanks. I recognized the quote as soon as it popped up in my Google search, I just didn’t know who wrote it. A very intelligent man.
Yes, it’s true, FReepers tend to be a bit deeper than my brother-in-law...
