Nevada rancher Cliven Bundys decades-long battle against the federal government over grazing rights has heated to the point where militia groups have joined in and taken up spots against the feds whove circled his land and talk is, theyre not afraid to open fire.
A spokesman for the one of the militia groups said as much to local 8 News Now: Im not afraid to shoot, he said.
Margaret Houston, Mr. Bundys sister and a cancer survivor, said at a town hall gathering this week that the situation was like a war zone and that she felt like I was not in the United States, The Daily Mail reported. The Las Vegas Review-Journal described it this way: Serious bloodshed was narrowly avoided, in a story about how dogs were unleashed on a woman who was pregnant while the ranchers son was hit with a taser.
On Tuesday, armed Bureau of Land Management agents stormed Mr. Bundys property, escalating a court dispute thats wound for two decades over the ranchers refusal to pay for grazing fees.
~~snip~~
Now militia groups are on the scene, promising to help the Bundys keep up the fight.
This is what we do, we provide armed response, Jim Lordy, with Operation Mutual Aid, told the local broadcast station. They have guns. We need guns to protect ourselves from the tyrannical government.
Mr. Lordy also said many more militia groups are coming to the site to join in the Bundy family defense.

You can thank Theodore Roosevelt for this. It was he and his cronies who redefined what the federal government could do with "public" lands and private lands where said lands had the government's interest for any reason whatsoever.
Yes, I have read the statues re open range in Nevada, and if my understanding is correct, then folks we have a legitimate civil war brewing<>
Forget about all the other arguments of fees, who is doing who or whatever, there aint no fence between the properties. Thinking BLM can go pound sand
People have said this before on FR. We’re sitting on a tinderbox. Few people like 0, and most of those know he’s the illigit Marxist figure head of an anti-freedom jihad. Few have any hope that the America they grew up with will be the America they leave behind. They know on some level that only a thorough purging will save our Freedom. Revolution is in the air.
As soon as shots are fired in Nevada, there will be hundreds of people driving to Nevada who never could have imagined themselves doing it. It will have a life of it’s own after that. They won’t get away with it because the people won’t stand for it. Raw power, as one Freeper said, will be met with raw power. No more abstractions.
3-gun? (I never served, Dad was a Ranger and taught me to shoot. Don’t know that term.)
Thank you for that reference.
I predicted it here. The government will fire upon US citizens. I’m sorry to say it will probably be in the next few days, and then the feds will make up a story, feed it to the media which will baptize it and plaster it all over the front page and the 6 oclock news.
But if we had a Republican president, all we would hear would be “fascism.”
If you have mixed feelings you don’t understand how far we have strayed from the vision of federalism our founding fathers had for America. Legalism is ALWAYS used to justify the continued existence of the federal behemoth.
This may be the onset of what I have been expecting for some time now, the next Revolution. I wish these guys the best and pray they be safe but victorious in what may be the first battle of the second revolution.
There is a certain danger, however.
My step-dad was an insurance adjuster in Kansas. And, once upon a time, he was assigned the job of adjusting a loss by a local rancher.
Seems his prize bull had attempted to get it on with a pumpjack. And his most valuable appendage was, er, "damaged" in the encounter. Permanently.
As I recall, they eventually settled on $3000 as compensation for the bull's member. The rancher accepted the check, saying "I once had a prize bull. Now, I've got $3000...and an ox."
The FF developed a code for Americans to live by. That code is the Constitution of the United States of America. It is the way to defeat usurpers, specifically with the 2nd Amendment. When the federal government refuses to follow the code by which it was created, it is time to abolish that government. There is no need for us to play by their rules. Our code is morally superior.
I am ready anytime to abolish the corrupt federal government. It’s way past time. Until a significant number of Americans feel the same, we will be cheated, lied to, and abused. We get what we demand.
“......and talk is, theyre not afraid to open fire.”
Seems I read something earlier today that the feds are now confiscating firearms of those who have arrived in that area and a carrying weapons. You can’t shoot if the feds have your guns.
This is getting out of control and our so-called “leader” goes off to NY on another fundraiser to help Sharpton, failing to call for “CALM” before leaving. Odumbo WANTS this to get out of control and wants the shooting to start so he can call himself KING once he declares Martial Law.
It’s coming folks, get ready.
Maybe this is where you’re going wrong. “The FF developed a code for Americans to live by. That code is the Constitution of the United States of America.” That’s 100% wrong. The Constitution is for the government to live by. Our code is natural law. No law can trump natural law. The Const is to constrain the government to work within the confines of individual liberty. Once they exceed their mandate, which you would agree they have, they become aggressors. It’s our duty, with authority under God, to check them.
Did you like my chess analogy?
Absolutely nothing has been said about the other farmers, which is a good point, but please do no start sodomizing the discussion with “forced out” nonsense until it has been proven.
It’s not federal property, therefore he does not owe the federal gov’t any $. BLM has been executing dessert tortoises from this very plot because the are flourishing to the point of overpopulation. The Fed’s pretext of endangered species protection is complete horse$hit.
Remember that the Founders broke laws, too. They were considered criminals by the reigning government at the time. They took a stand. At some point, we all will have to.
I went back to the post to see what was wrong in what I did. Was it the Thank You part? If that is your point then I’ll Thank You too.
The Fed’s are simply setting a precedent that they will use to implement their statist agenda.
I agree were the founders doing the “legal” thing when they threw someone elses tea in the harbor?
