Militias head to Nevada rancher’s standoff with feds: We’re not ‘afraid to shoot’
Washington Times ^ | April 11, 2014

Posted on 04/11/2014 11:23:53 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s decades-long battle against the federal government over grazing rights has heated to the point where militia groups have joined in and taken up spots against the feds who’ve circled his land — and talk is, they’re not afraid to open fire.

A spokesman for the one of the militia groups said as much to local 8 News Now: I’m not “afraid to shoot,” he said.

Margaret Houston, Mr. Bundy’s sister and a cancer survivor, said at a town hall gathering this week that the situation “was like a war zone” and that she felt “like I was not in the United States,” The Daily Mail reported. The Las Vegas Review-Journal described it this way: “Serious bloodshed was narrowly avoided,” in a story about how dogs were unleashed on a woman who was pregnant while the rancher’s son was hit with a taser.

On Tuesday, armed Bureau of Land Management agents stormed Mr. Bundy’s property, escalating a court dispute that’s wound for two decades over the rancher’s refusal to pay for grazing fees.

~~snip~~

Now militia groups are on the scene, promising to help the Bundys keep up the fight.

“This is what we do, we provide armed response,” Jim Lordy, with Operation Mutual Aid, told the local broadcast station. “They have guns. We need guns to protect ourselves from the tyrannical government.”

Mr. Lordy also said “many more” militia groups are coming to the site to join in the Bundy family defense.

If you read my original post, I was asking questions about the situation. I just mentioned the cost going up along with others. You have just named another, where they appear to be reducing his income by as much as 85%.

I have yet to find a firm source, other than what's been posted around here.

This is not about grazing fees. Not for either side.

They’ll attempt to either provoke a response or fake a response, kill everyone that can testify against them, hide all the evidence, and blame the protesters for being massacred.

I'm a little surprised the tasering incident didn't precipitate this. Bundy should have several Go-Pro cameras set up to record everything from all angles, so when things go to hell they'll be a record.

On twitter: Bundy family reports that the feds have shut off cell towers preventing communication and photo & video uploads.

This giving you a warm fuzzy Mr Rogers? Censorship is the first thing tyrants resort to. They do not want us to see the Female and Baby Incinerators do the Waco thing ya know.

I’d bet that right now, Obama has a drone surveilling these militia men, and that he’d love to launch a Hellfire at these, his political enemies.

This militia will all be killed to paint the public perception of any militia action of the future as negative, whether the battle is for a just cause, or not.
Perception is a huge part of the agenda here, and it is designed to discourage any battle for lost freedom in the future.
They will be killed and the media will do it's part to cover any injustice by the government.
That is why the media is complicit in the destruction of this country, and they need to be treated as such.

If they had total control of communications like the did back then, they’d already be painting these people as crazy cultists by now.

Good point.

Though I would have to wonder if they don't think they could get away with it. I have zero doubt they can get away with it--who is going to stop them?

It is not straightforward, as anyone who researches it a tiny bit knows. 95% of Nevada is owned by Feds. What more do they want?

Your money, liberty, property, and life.

Some of these militias are just itching for a chance to shoot some Feds. Do the BLM morons realize that? BTW it won’t even be a contest. It will be a bloodbath. And the BLM morons will do most of the bleeding.

Idiots. Freaking morons.

PS Just stating the reality, not advocating for it.

“..who value the U.S. Constitution as the supreme law of the land and are fighting tooth-and-nail to restore it as such.”

I value the Constitution, but we’re the only ones adhering to it and we’re losing because of it. I wish I had a good metaphor or syllogism because I think it would help. Bundy disobeyed, not the constitution, but an unjust government. The supremacy clause doesn’t allow the government to do whatever the Supremes say they can do.

Man! I wish I could articulate this stronger! It’s like playing chess with someone whose ponds move like queens. You keep playing by the rules. You love the game of chess, so you don’t want to destroy it by stooping to his level. However, others love the game too, and its future depends on you defeating this cheater. The bad guys are not bound by the constitution. As long as they’re not, they can do whatever they want = they will win.

Reasonable argument/ explanation.

Now considering Nevada is an open range state, does that not obligate BLM to put up fences to prevent grazing?

But the Fed govt allows and actually supports & welcomes alien illegals who are not US citizens TO BUY LAND & Houses IN USA.
As far as LAND goes, illegal aliens have the gov t support.

I may not like the BLM, but they do have a legal right under the US Constitution to manage the grazing IAW the laws of Congress.

Would you please cite and quite the relevant section of the Constitution?

My understanding is that Bundy is the last of many dozens of farmers run off that particular land since the 1990’s when the Federal government started enforcing grazing fees for itself, in addition to what the ranchers had paid to the county for 100 years or so.

Now Fedzilla is rolling in with snipers and tactical vehicles to collect its fees from the last farmer standing.

This probably won’t end well, especially under this administration ... meaning, if they have no qualms about using IRS agents as political enforcers for their ideology, they won’t have any problem burning this whole area to the ground, especially if they can paint it as a “teabagger”/conservative uprising.

However, this is a pretty straightforward case: the rancher refuses to pay for grazing permits, and has argued in court that he is not a US citizen. This is NOT the place for conservatives to rally!

Too many idiots too itching for a fight to be troubled with pesky facts. But keep repeating those facts anyway.
