A 20-year dispute between a Nevada rancher and federal rangers over illegal cattle grazing erupted into an Old West-style showdown on the open range this week, even prompting self-proclaimed members of militia groups from across the country to join the rancher in fighting what they say is U.S. "tyranny." What began as a legal fight between longtime rancher Cliven Bundy and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management has escalated as Bundy kept his cattle on the federal land, and the government has responded by beginning roundups of the livestock. A confrontation teetered on violence Wednesday when Bundy family members and dozens of supporters angrily confronted a group of rangers holding Tasers and barking dogs on leashes near Bunkerville, about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. Federal officials say a police dog was kicked and officers were assaulted.

Stewart Rhoades and Oathkeepers are now there. Supposedly hundreds of militia are coming from about 5 states. It may be hard to get the genie back in the bottle on this one.
This will not end well...................
What’s telling is the feds’ lack of “want to” on the topic of “de-escalation”.
They want full capitulation. They want their abuses and overreach to be seen, and they also want the People’s impotence to do anything about it to be seen.
For once I agree with you. The Feds want to literally crush this guy and send a message to all the other cattle ranchers in the west as well as the governors of the Western states.
If Gov Sandoval would just stand up and kick the Feds out of the state to difuse the situation he would be a hero.
I thank God for the OathKeepers. They have spoken at our Tea Party meetings.
“In the scuffle with protesters, a police dog was kicked, and officers protecting the civilian driver were threatened and assaulted, the two agencies’ statement said. “After multiple requests and ample verbal warnings, law enforcement officers deployed Tasers on a protestor,” the statement said.”
But no arrests. Because not true. Fedcoat aggression was all I saw, and Americans who have had enough.
It’s time to show them that THE PEOPLE aren’t the capons they think we are.
WE’d sure like to see a state show some sovereignty and do what you said,
but that would be an unacceptable to the feds. They can’t have any precedent exist where a state trumped the feds’ power in any situation.
There will be someone killed over this, guaranteed.
And probably a whole lot of someones.
And there will be a coverup, with the dead people blamed for causing it.
1st article I’ve read that gives an appropriate account of the dispute
The gubmint won’t back down, even though they know they are wrong....cuz being wrong is for women ...
(ducking...)
The people “deploying tazers” should be sitting in the county jail.
The feds CAN’T back down, because that would be the spark of widespread rebellion.
This is where they’ve pushed this country - to the point that if anyone fights back, everyone fights back.
And the inept dog handler. The county sheriff however is sitting in his office, taking a powder on this incident.
He needs to be getting some letters reminding him of his DUTY, and that fact that elections occur on regular intervals.
What is interesting to me is that the comments on a CNN(!) story are so strongly anti-fedcoat.
Coincidence with the rest of Clark County standing down?
Probably not. It's all part of the 'rat plan to fundamentally transform America.
If Gov Sandoval would just stand up and kick the Feds out of the state to difuse the situation he would be a hero.

There is an opportunity here like Jindal flubbed during the oil spill, and federal diktat to do nothing as it rolled in. A governor with some grit could make a real difference.
The ‘free speech area’ alone justifies incarcerating the lot of the fedcoats. It is proof of their willful actions to abrogate the Constitution.
And there will be a coverup, with the dead people blamed for causing it.
True, and it works every time. Just look at the majority of low info voters and what they think about Waco...or Ruby Ridge, or even Wounded Knee.
Yes, I could go on, Whiskey Rebellion, Bonus Army, Athens TN, etc...
Kent State...

Where are the other ranchers affected by this?
What did the Feds do about Occupy Wall Street? It seems Federal Property and Commerce were impeded; they had as much grounds as here.
We ought to call this thing "Occupy Nevada" or something.
