With a single phrase of compassion for immigrants in the U.S. illegally, Jeb Bush has prompted questions about his viability as a potential presidential contender and underscored how divisive the immigration issue remains for the Republican Party.
The former Florida governor sparked a conservative furor this week when he described illegal immigration in an interview as an act of love by people trying to provide for their families.
Backing Bush are some of the GOPs most powerful insiders and financiers, who are hoping the party can woo Hispanic voters and rebound from Mitt Romneys damaging self-deportation rhetoric in 2012.
The worst thing that can happen to a political party is not for voters to decide they dont like you, said Alex Castellanos, a GOP consultant and former Romney adviser. Its for voters to decide you dont like them. And thats where the Republican Party is right now.
Other GOP lawmakers and conservative activists, however, are cringing over Bushs remarks, which triggered vocal opposition and concerns about amnesty.

Jeb just STFU already.
“Backing Bush are some of the GOPs most powerful insiders and financiers, who are hoping the party can woo Hispanic voters and rebound from Mitt Romneys damaging self-deportation rhetoric in 2012. “
Yeah right. That’s why Romney lost.
It’s a good thing this man will never be president.
Its Not An American Value To Allow People To Stay In The Shadows
This is so ridiculous. Practically all of these people are right out in the open doing whatever they want. Sancuary cities, you name it.
Cut the “Diary of Ann Frank” BS, Jeb
I allow them to go back home, Jughead.
Jeb... Trespassing is NOT an American Value you NWO POS...
Nor is it an American Value, Jeb, to allow lawbreakers to profit from their crime.
if breaking into the country and stealing services (therefore increasing the cost for citizens) isn’t a crime... then how is speeding a crime?
is he saying no one has to pay for speeding tickets anymore?
I don’t think that I can vote for this nitwit.
I hate Jeb Bush
and I hate Obama and democrats
If I became the President then on the first day I would deport all illegals
anyone that is for the illegal immigrant invasion is a traitor
[ The idiot should just make it official and run as a Mexican candidate.
He married a Mexican national and has dual citizenship so technically he can run for office in Mexico.
If Jeb wants to fix the illegal immigration problem, he should run for office there.
Im not kidding. Mexico sure needs help. He can take Rubio with him as his chief of staff and McNuts as secretary of defence. This could work. ]
Mexico could certainly use more Corrupt Establishment Elites to CONTINUE to run their country as it HAS BEEN RAN over the last century....
I don’t like J. Bush.
[ I wouldnt be surprised if Jeb Bush pulled a Charlie Crist in the not too distant future. ]
We need to give positive reinforcement to the RINOs that they would be better off in the the other party...
Maybe we should grant amnesty to all those criminals who are currently hiding from the law. After all, apparently it is not “american” to cause people to hide.
Cold day in Hades before I’d vote for the RINO!
Agreed.
(1) We need functional laws on legal immigration that will remove the demand for illegal immigration.
(2) Once good immigration laws are passed, the reduced demand for criminals as employees should discourage those who broke the law to come here so that they will leave or leave and apply to return legally.
Under no circumstances should those who broke our laws to come here be rewarded for that criminal action.
Jeb...
Just go away.
At the end of the day JEB and his family, friends and like-minded RINOs and Democrats can retreat to their gated communities.
But those of us in the middle class—shrinking, due to NAFTA, shipping jobs south and overseas—well, we get to deal with those “hiding in the shadows”, with their crime, gang activity, narco-culture & graffiti; coming up here to take the entry-level jobs that remain, drunk driving; living like fraternities, a dozen in a two BR ranch while acting as `safe-houses for even more illegal relatives and amigos; using public services like the ER `no charge’ and skipping; their kids holding back American school kids because they can’t speak a word of English; tuberculosis; and on and on and on. New World Order ...
Show some love to those “living in the shadows”?
FUJEB
Boo Chit!
They came here under cover darkness knowing full well what their fate would be under our laws.
I personally couldn’t care less that they are here but, for the fact they didn’t get in like everyone else.
Is it an American value to allow people to cheat and get away with it?
You must be loads of fun on the Monopoly game.
I’d never let you be the banker...
