President Obama has requested $1.1 billion and the Department of Justice (DOJ) asked for $382.1 million for gun control "to protect Americans from gun violence."

Included in the DOJ's $382.1 million figure is a request for $2 million for smart gun technology grants.

According to The Washington Beacon, Obama's $1.1 billion "[includes] $182 million to support the president's 'Now is the Time' gun safety initiative."

"Now is the Time" includes the following:

1. Require background checks for all gun sales. 2. Strengthen the background check system for gun sales.

3. Pass a new, stronger ban on assault weapons.

4. Limit ammunition magazines to 10 rounds.

4. Finish the job of getting armor-piercing bullets off the streets

5. Give law enforcement additional tools to prevent and prosecute gun crime

6. End the freeze on gun violence research

7. Make our schools safer with new resource officers and counselors, better emergency response plans, and more nurturing school climates.

8. Ensure quality coverage of mental health treatment, particularly for young people....

Obama and Holder should be in prison. They are destroying our freedoms.

“Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Kim Il Sung, Mao and hundreds of others did the same thing.”

History does tend to repeat itself.

Though non of the listing applies to me and my guns now I think of the day such a listing would be extended to my guns(really pistols and rifles) as guns are officially big stuff. At this time I worry more about all law enforcement agencies and personnel using inappropriately their public money guns on the public which not only pays for their ‘toys’ but the time to use such.

I have a cheaper idea. Zero out the budget of the ATF. Authorize a personal tax credit of up to $500 for the primary self-defense handgun purchased by every adult American. Problem solved.

Oh boy, here we go again.

1. Require background checks for all gun sales.

-Klebold and Harris got someone to buy their guns for them. And gangbangers don’t usually go to gun shows.

2. Strengthen the background check system for gun sales.

-”Strengthen” meaning “hassle law-abiding citizens.”

3. Pass a new, stronger ban on assault weapons.

-Really go after those scary looking weapons that are no more or no less deadly than any other firearm with a similar caliber.

4. Limit ammunition magazines to 10 rounds.

-The Virginia Tech shooter used (primarily) 10 round magazines for both of his handguns (one of which was a .22). It only takes a second or two to slap in a new magazine, and you’ll have plenty of time in a “gun free zone” to reload.

4. Finish the job of getting armor-piercing bullets off the streets

-”Armor piercing” meaning anything from a hollow point to most any modern centerfire rifle round. “Can’t get the guns, so we’ll take ammo” - that’s pretty much what this is about.

5. Give law enforcement additional tools to prevent and prosecute gun crime

-And what, pray tell, are these “tools”? Bet it’s got very little to do with disarming gang-bangers or other criminals who acquired their weapons illegally in the first place.

6. End the freeze on gun violence research

-I’m not even gonna bother with this one.

7. Make our schools safer with new resource officers and counselors, better emergency response plans, and more nurturing school climates.

-Ah yes, “nurturing”. A-yup. Do any of those plans involve arming any of the good guys? Didn’t think so.

8. Ensure quality coverage of mental health treatment, particularly for young people....

-In theory, not a bad idea. In practice? Little Jimmy didn’t do his GenderQueer Studies homework, which is clear evidence of aggression and dangerous homophobia. Plus, he made his pop-tart look like a gun!

How nice. Using our tax dollars to subvert the Bill of Rights. These assclowns never cease to amaze me at the arrogance they show. To quote eric ‘let’s take over the admin office’ holder, “You don’t want to go there buddy.” Arrggghhhhhh!!!!!

Nothing to lose sleep about. This budget request has zero chance of getting through the House. I say let them bring it up, it is a winner for our side. Those red state Democrats are going to be really enthusiastic about this. I just hope they don’t wait until after November before they bring the whole gun issue up again.

Hope the House doesn’t cave on this...Some of the States said they will ignore new Federal gun laws so it may get interesting...

The Mexican people would like to request that the 0bama
administration practice a little gun control of their own.

I’m “hopin’” the house will shut it down but sent my congress critter a note anyway. So far he’s been a good guy for us so we’ll see how he does on the doj request for money to further restrict our “unalienable” rights. I am SOOOOO sick of these assclowns.

They have money for this overt act of tyranny against the law-abiding, while cutting health and other VA benefits for our armed forces.

We are indeed ruled by evil men.

“Why would we, then, spend over a hundred million dollars instituting another ban?”

Because the only gun control the liberals will accept is complete disarmament of the people while turning the country into an armed police state. They want absolute control and the only way is through disarmament.
