Republican members of Congress are criticizing Jeb Bushs comments on immigration, highlighting the challenge hed face in winning over the GOPs conservative base in a 2016 presidential primary.

Bushs comments at an event marking the 25th anniversary of his fathers presidency come as he is weighing his own bid for the White House, but they werent warmly received, even among Republican members who want to see the system changed. Rep. Raúl Labrador (R-Idaho), a conservative who has worked on immigration reform, suggested Bush was pandering.
When you trivialize the fact that these people have broken the law, I think your message is a little bit off. I think its unfortunate, Labrador said at a Tuesday event sponsored by The Heritage Foundation.
Labrador said that, while he likes Bush and has spoken to him on numerous occasions, he linked his remarks to those by other Republicans who have called for the party to pass an immigration overhaul, in part, to appease Hispanic voters.
I think comments from Jeb Bush and other Republicans what theyre doing is theyre pandering to a certain group of people, Labrador said. And Ive got news for you. If we pass immigration reform tomorrow like members of the Republican conference want us to do, theyre not going to vote for the Republican Party.

Forget about it, Jebbie!
The former Florida governor made headlines this weekend, when he said people coming to the U.S. illegally were doing so out of an act of love for their families, and they shouldnt be treated the same as criminals committing a felony.
Jeb for dogcatcher.
And the dogcatcher for Repub nominee.
We’d stand a better chance.
We only come to feed our fahm-ilies!
We only come to Work!
We only come to take jour land, and Rule you, gringo jerk!
I want to see some compassion for US citizens and taxpayers
I want to see some compassion for US citizens and taxpayers...
According to Jeb, that is NOT about love...
Wouldn't trust him. Don't forget that he let Terri Schiavo die. If that's how he treats people.....
Jeb has the personality of a rock and generates less excitiement than watching grass grow.
Jeff Bush loves undocumented immigrants, but, where is his love for the millions of American unemployed? There are 91 million Americans out of the work force.
Thanks to Obama we have the lowest participation in the work force since the 1970s and some demagogues want to open wide our borders to hundreds of millions around the world who would love to enjoy the American dream... but that dream is becoming in an American nightmare for those born here and those who came legally to enjoy our way of life loving the U.S. as much as their country of birth.
What is even more aggravating is that people who entered the country illegally are demanding rights and privileges that American citizens do not enjoy and they did not dare to demand from the government of their own country.
California used to be the richest state of America. Now it is almost bankrupt. Anybody can see the result of uncontrolled illegal immigration, and companies are leaving to Texas, Florida and other red states with less taxes and better incentives to invest and prosper.
In fact, unemployment is now lower in Mexico than in U.S.; perhaps Americans will start moving south.
Jeb is a narcissist who thinks love votes for him.
We have an Obama epidemic.
I’ve come to the conclusion that we would literally be better off if all presently elected federal offices were assigned by random lottery.
Laundromats, grocery stores, gas stations and bowling alleys have a better chance of providing adequate people with relative sense and integrity than Ivy League schools and machine politics do.

They don’t have a problem with what he said, just that he’s saying it too soon.
The only thing they’re worried about is him tipping his hand.
Disgusting.
Heard the same sneering, contemptuous crap from Mexicans who are trying to put down American men.
They equate their manhood with the number of children they have, whether they can feed them or not.
Even more so if they can trick the gringo into paying for their kids.
They aren't here to work. They're here to take what they can. In Conquistador culture, that's what makes you a Big Man.
It's also the reason their countries failed, and continue to do so.
