Breaking news, via KDKA Pittsburgh. Six people (not sure all students or teachers or combination of the two) at Franklin Regional HS in Murrysville, PA. Live feed at link.

Three medical helicopters on the ground, a fourth already taken an injured (stabbed) victim to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Six people CONFIRMED stabbed. HS bldg evacuated (students at FR middle school).
Franklin Regional SD is in an eastern suburb of Pittsburgh. A really nice, upscale area.
WTAE saying that it is rumored to be a student actor.
Three helicopters have now take off. Multiple ambulances at scene also. Local and state police surrounding the scene.
Scary as hell. My kid is at a “neighboring” school district HS. He has sports teammates that go to FR.

No perp description. Perhaps an Amish student got out of hand?
Channel surfing between the 3 local tv stations. Perp is IN CUSTODY. No description given. No updates on victims other than severe enough for LifeFlights to transports by air.
Apparently perp was running and slashing.

They don’t know if it’s a knife, razor etc. also, (I’m not on FB) but EYEWITNESS students have taken to social media and are id’ing the actor. TV stations are NOT repeating name until police confirmation.
What is scary is so many had to be taken out by helicopter.

Best I can add is Franklin Regional is located in Murrysville, PA. A very nice upper middle class suburb east of Pittsburgh. It’s in Westmoreland County (a very red area in blue PA).
i grew up very near here, went to Kiski Area Sr HS, this is horrible!
I guess that’s one good thing about Facebook and modern smartphones. Folks who want to tell something, can. At once. No intimidation games.
unless the demographic makeup has changed dramatically, it is extremely unlikely to be muslim related.

I am really not sure of Franklin Regional demographics, but anecdotally there is small ROP presence here in Westmoreland County (and I only know this by seeing the scarves). ABSOLUTELY NO INDICATION OF MOTIVE OR ID OF PERP HAS BEEN REPORTED.
