Being a mom or dad is one of life's greatest joys. But early on weekend mornings? We're not always feeling the joy so much. In a series of Vine videos now going viral, one bleary-eyed dad captures the truth of Saturday mornings as a parent.
Tony Serafini, a 38-year-old dad from Leominster, Mass., spends Saturday mornings alone with his 4-year-old daughter after his wife and eldest daughter leave for dance class. He started shooting a series of videos showing the little girl rocking out to her favorite music in the background, while dad blearily waits for his caffeine to kick in.

Bet he misses Saturday morning cartoons the noncable networks aired...quite till noon then outside to play.
Those were the good old days really.
He’s got it good. My 3.5yo listens to bollywood numbers, bounces on just about anything that even remotely flexes, plays with dolls, hotwheels, tears around the house yelling, pretends to be a dinosaur (and various other kinds of beasties), and generally has as much fun as she can get away with. I sometimes let her goad me into playing, but not always, since I want her to be able to entertain herself rather than always needing someone else to do it for her. I tell her stories, sometimes the same one 3 or 4 times in a row, at bedtime (eventually I have to stop her and say goodnight). Just about the only thing I *always* will do whenever she asks is dance with her.
The saturday morning cartoons can be had through several different means: buying the Warner “Golden Collection” DVDs gets most of the best ones, and there are enough to last many weekends before having to do reruns; those, interspersed with a few youtube clips can make for a decent couple of hours.
The “outside to play” can be problematic these days, though. Some people have absolutely nothing better to do with their time than call the cops to report an “unsupervised” child playing in their own backyard.
"My daughter has her own playlist on Spotify with all the top pop hits, and a load of Frozen and Despicable Me songs,
Too much exposure to "popular" music for a four year old child.
Kids these days don’t know what they’re missing, truly..
Ha! My first grandbaby - a girl - was born on Monday morning. I’ve already sent the link to the video to my so he knows what he’s in for! LOL!
The dad in the video is too funny!
Congratulations!
The dad should spend time with the little girl. He ignores her even when shes desperately seeking his attention. The TV isnt a very good babysitter.
I thought it was kinda sad in a way - the fat lug should pull himself away from HIS distraction to interact with such a lovely kid.....instead he’s focused on the net and the kids head gets polluted by all that crap music and the lousy messages they bring
agreed
Thank you for hat. I was having trouble putting into words why I was thinking this father should be interacting with his daughter more, instead of ith his laptop.
What is this dude’s problem, what an ass, why doesn’t he play with her or take her to the park or read to her? Just sit there with his back to her? Miserable excuse for a dad. Post it online for predators? Idiot.
Thank you both. I found nothing funny at all in this and thought the father was a jerk. The mother should take this child along or ensure the father gets some parenting classes. This is not an early morning “I can’t wake up” problem.
Totally got the same thing...
Fat dad rolling his eyes at bored child trying to amuse herself...and thinking he’s cool by videoing it.
Loser...in MA...wonder who he voted for in 2012?
I agree. I didn’t find it funny at all, only sad.
