SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Suspended state Sen. Leland Yee pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to bribery and gun charges two weeks after he was arrested as part of an FBI sting targeting political corruption and an alleged organized crime syndicate based in San Franciscos Chinatown.
Yee entered his pleas in federal court to one count of conspiracy to traffic in firearms without a license and illegally import firearms; one count of conspiring to defraud citizens of honest services; and six counts of engaging in a scheme to defraud citizens of honest services.
The San Francisco Democrat is accused of conspiring to connect an undercover FBI agent with a Philippine arms dealer in exchange for campaign contributions, and of trading political influence for cash.

Truly.
Yee is probably betting on getting a sympathetic liberal judge who will help delay proceedings (a pretty good bet, too) until the next century and then Yee will get off with a slap on the wrist.
Rat laws are never enforced against Rats, but will be against other than Rats.
“Not guilty by reason of Eric Holder, Obama, and the Sleestak!”

He’ll get a sentence of public service, which he’ll serve in Chinatown, with side trips to the Philippines. And he’ll eventually run for office again and win. Thanks Libloather.
That is enough for dumBO to issue a nothing sinister here statement.
“one count of conspiracy to traffic in firearms without a license and illegally import firearms; one count of conspiring to defraud citizens of honest services; and six counts of engaging in a scheme to defraud citizens of honest services.”
I’ve said it before, but IMHO Yee’s actions border on the treasonous. Had the undercover officers been “the real deal”, there’s no telling who might have wound up with the weapons Yee was willing to ship. Gang members, organized crime...maybe even a terrorist sleeper cell.
Something to think about.
