So I'm watching this whole "Firefox" uninstall effort going on, with some amusement.
Y'all should understand that Google and Firefox have ways of winning even if you uninstall Firefox.
I'll cover that in the body of my thread below
You can customize Ghostery by site so that you can get the ads, or other things, you want where you want and not anywhere else.

If people really want to hit back at google and Mozilla, simply use all of their free stuff to the max and don’t ever let them make a penny of revenue off of you. It’s the same philosophy I use for all of my FREE banking and FREE credit card service! I use the services and I never pay a dime in fees or interest.
For gmail, use an email client like Thunderbird and you’ll never see an ad.
For browsing, use Firefox with Adblock Plus with a couple of filter sets, DoNotTrackMe, CookieCuller & BetterPrivacy. That’ll assure you never even see most of the ads. As for the rest, simply never click on any of them.
So starve the beast while eating its lunch!

Thnx for reminding me.
I had been meaning to install Flashfox and put an end to all those abysmal Ads and Newswers taking over my browsing pleasure.
Installed and optioned for “Ask me”
No borders, no unique cultures and they hire their share of gays, who also want to push their agenda.
My employer's IT office hired one of the most flamboyant gays I've ever encountered - and he hates all things Google with a lavender passion. Go figure, right?
I switched to “pale moon’ on the advice a freeper posted...
I do not think I will ever go back to firefox...
I like it. I don’t know if the details apply in this circumstance, but they easily could. This is the kind of thing that goes on in big business all the time, including in SV. And Google isn’t nice. So yeah, good theory.
Yes, have been using it quite a while. Generally pretty good.
Access it with https://www.duckduckgo.com (https:) and get the benefits of a secure shell search engine. It has really reduced my DNS poisoning episodes.
I also use ixquick.com , startpage.com and gibiru.com
I have had times when by changing secure shell search engines and accessing a website that I am blocked from, through the search engine result page, it went right through.
It is a wild and wooly time here on the web today.
Just switched to PaleMoon today, and I’m very pleased with the results. My entire profile transferred over flawlessly.

This is a very nice winnable battle for freedom lovers if we commit to keeping the heat on Mozilla - an already wounded foe. Do not lose focus. This will be a very powerful statement if conservatives can unite behind this cause.
not sure but the search engine stuff i think is correct. I try to use ixquick as well but then when you do maps its gets lame.
The act of intolerance and bigotry was taken by Mozilla. Shifting blame to Google is irrational no matter how large or small their influence might have been.
If someone wants to take action to show their disagreement, leaving Mozilla and minimizing future use of Google seems like the logical reaction.
I switched to Pale Moon today and all Firefox Bookmarks and settings tranfered easily, including most all add ons. It’s working great so far and functions exactly like Firefox.
Very easy to download Pale Moon and give it a try.
What’s kewel about Palemoon is it’s essentially Firefox.
The dude has the license to create his own browser under Mozilla’s MPH.
I can’t see getting completely away from Google.
Neck, my speil checker always “caps” the first letter in Google
We can minimize them and one day, a long time from now they will be hit with Monopoly suits by gubmint.
I like palemoon.
Except for pictures I desperately “need” I just try not to use Google anymore.
‘Sides, dem bass turds is selling me infawmation and browsing history everytime I turn around.
The are intrusive, obtrusive and abusive.
Gotta kill em eventually and get em broke up like Ma Bell in 1984 under the MFJ.
Most gays are right headed and not given to idiotic bouts of angry outbursts .
They just wanna be in the world like the rest of us
I have few angry gay friends.
The rest want nothing to do with the lobby.
I use Ixquick too, it`s my home page, but I also don`t use Mozilla!
You are not hurting Google by going to another browser.

I have switched to Opera, as per a poster’s recommendation here. Not at all tech savvy, so please bear with me while I ask what may seem like some dumb questions.
Opera let me choose a default browser from a menu, but DuckDuckGo, the one I have been using, was not among the choices. Okay, I can deal with that by putting Duck on my “Speed Dial” page, as Opera calls it, and I pulled it to my tool bar.
Here is my big question. How in the heck do I disconnect from Google altogether? There it sits on my Speed Dial page and I certainly did not put it there. I cannot find any way to remove it, and going to Opera’s help pages did not tell me.
So that means Google is following me around whether I use it or not, right? Or am I wrong about that?
Thanks in advance for your help?
4. Some of the campaign to dump Eich came from inside the Firefox effort.
3. There are also plans to incorporate adware in the Firefox browser.
2. Dumping Firefox sends the message. Market share is everything for such a browser and means big bucks, social influence, political influence, etc.
1. Firefox is already commonly known as the choice of creepy weirdos, who do creepy weirdo things with stinky parts. One can get creepy weirdo cooties from a creepy weirdo browser.
Whoa!!!
How’d you know about my creepy, weirdo, stinky thing.
Just hold the cursor over the Google icon on your Opera speed dial page and a small X should appear in the lower right corner.
Google is not in my speed dial and I think I eliminated most all the speed dial selections that were pre-loaded with Opera.
