God forbid we have a nuclear exchange in the Indiana Ocean. Imagine the fallout in Ohio!

Do you play poker? This bluff is for children.

Roughly 10,000 military personnel were expected to participate in the maneuvers, which are intended as practice for a large-scale nuclear offensive, according to the Russian newspaper. Exercise participants were set to position and prepare missile-firing units for launch, and to practice various administrative and support functions for the operation, said Col. Igor Yegorov, a Russian Defense Ministry spokesman for the strategic missile services.

and http://www.ng.ru/armies/2014-03-26/6_strike.html (In Russian: this was the largest drill so far, in 2013 they had 18 drills with 3000 soldiers involved. In 2014 they will increase the excercises.)

I anticipates that you know about this:

According to scenarios drafted in 1964, Warsaw Pact forces planned to use 131 tactical nuclear missiles and bombs to sideline NATO armaments and destroy Western Europe's political and communications centres, in the event of an “imperialist” strike.

we are now back to

The only thing that the Soviets accepts and respect is strength.

“The Communist guy” is actually the Chief of Ukrainian Communist Party.

*************

So the Kiev putschists include Communists? Will supporting Kiev help legitimize the Ukrainian CP?

The only thing that the Soviets accepts and respect is strength. Couldn't have said it better myself. Yet we have a Putin adoration club even here on FR. Disgusting, isn't it?

You better seek help, buddy, until it’s too late. What “putschists”, the legitimately elected Verkhovna Rada (Parliament)?!
The Ministry of Health warns you: reading Pravda is dangerous for your cognitive abilities.

Our military strength (what’s left of it) should be spent removing invaders from the US and securing our southern border. Otherwise, we’ll have a majority Mexican population in some areas which will be justified in demanding self determination.

Let me rephrase it for you.

In this example of establishing Ukrainian policy and law, for that is the role of a parliament, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEdV8aWnu1g is the Ukrainian Communist Party a part of the Kiev “government”?

If so, will supporting Kiev help legitimize the Ukrainian CP?

As for your statement “You better seek help, buddy, until it’s too late”, it presents a novel concept of time, cause and effect that I am still trying to grasp.

So you think all that you suggested will let Russia back down? Your kidding. The point is, in both instances, they were over matched by superior military but their will, determination and guile made them overcome that. Same applies today. All that you suggested does not guarantee victory, as Russia may be inferior to the US militarily but they sure ain't no mouse and can handle themselves competently. If we were to do what you suggest that would sure start WW3 and then we all lose.

Yes, and the reason some adore Putin is described by John Schindler in this article http://20committee.com/2014/04/07/putinism-and-the-anti-weird-coalition/

“The Pentagon in particular has lost a lot of its Russia expertise, as has the White House.”

More of those outside experts are now likely to find work in defence ministries and intelligence agencies, current and former officials say. But in an era of constrained budgets, focusing on Russia is likely to mean redeploying resources from elsewhere.

Until the Ukraine crisis that did not seem a natural choice, people with knowledge of internal discussions say.

“The main problem is one of capacity at a time when counterterrorism, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Arab awakening have taken up so much energy,” said one former Western intelligence officer on condition of anonymity.

Russia is primarily a threat to its immediate neighbourhood only, officials and analysts say, but still one requiring greater vigilance that over the last two decades.

Russia doesn’t have that many bodies to bury us under, relax. All I am suggesting is growing a pair to stand up to the bully, that’s all. As primitive as Russians are, they still value own lives.

Rotflol......good one!

Ukraine's a comfortable diversion for Putin as he seals oil deals with China and around the world...opens gold mines, and fracking ahead in Siberia....how come Putin gets all these things done and we sit here watching Obama on the golf course or off on vacation......and our politicians, like McCain, over in Ukraine, in Egypt, Israel etc nosing in on their turf instead of improving our country!

Obama thanking McCain

Schindler’s critics believe that he’s pompous, arrogant, and unwilling to actually engage in a debate....he routinely berates anyone who questions his claims and enjoys belittling anyone who doesn’t hold a precious PhD in history, which he uses his doctorate to paper over any flaws in arguments.... I encountered this duffas when looking for more direct sources on info about Crimea. He’s a twitter hound and rare to offer any insight worth looking at.

Someone took notice of Schindler’s tactics and crafted a Tumblr blog containing nothing but screenshots of actual Schindler tweets..it’s a hoot!

"Stalin was from Georgia, Kruschev was from the Ukraine. They have been part of Russia for centuries. We should recognize this. Pull NATO out of east Europe, and stop our 25 yr shad en war against the new democratic Russia just so the world can seize and plunder their resources. Russia is pro family, anti abortion, pro christian, flat tax, etc. They are heading the right way, we're heading for the dumps. For the sake of future generations, the world needs Putin as a leader over the likes of Obama. "

The events of the last 24 hours also, again, raise questions. We will need to see as more facts come to light. It seems strangely coincidental that these activities all took place in different parts of Ukraine on the same afternoon. There are reports on social media this morning about how “pro-Russian residents” of Kharkiv stormed the Opera, thinking that it was the town hall, and demanded that the mayor come out.

It’s very surprising that these so-called “residents” of Kharkiv would think that the Opera was the town hall.

How so?

Strange that you can conjure up a cat but not a rebuttal to my post.

Calling a freeper an idiot is abusive and against the rules. Next time, I'll report you.
