"Americas renowned climatologist, professor Lonnie Thompson in 2002 projected that the snow on the summit of Africas highest mountain would completely disappear between 2015 and 2020, thanks to global warming.
But 12 years down the lane now, local ecologists who have been monitoring the trend say the ice, in fact, remains steady and it is nowhere near extinction"

The unexpected persistence of these glaciers is just more evidence for Global Warming.
The most compelling evidence for global warming is the chart at the bottom of the article showing a total of 12 million dollars in NSF grants to Dr.Thompson for his theories.
"Americas renowned notorious climatologist Government Grant Sink , professor Lonnie Thompson and his similarly "employed" wife Ellen Mosley-Thompson" have been spending gov't money without making their government funded ice core data public for decades.
Clearly, warming has caused melting of the icecaps, allowing colder air to escape from the polar vortex, thus increasing the glaciers on Kilimanjaro. Pretty simple, really. /s
Those islands in the Pacific a few inches above sea level haven’t gone under yet either...
Didn’t Gore have a bunch of doomsday stuff for 2016? We’ll have to keep talking about this stuff until everyone knows the ‘earth is going to end’ nuts are wrong.
” - - - it takes up to 30 years to conclude on whether rainfalls are on increase or otherwise, - - - “
Hmmmmm - - - ?
30 years is the length of the North Atlantic Ocean Oscillation.
More importantly, 30 years is about the length of the feeding time at the taxpayer’s trough for a US Senator from either of “both” of our sorry political parties.
Looks like a great campaign issue for our “Public Servants,” as by the time they retire, no one will have proven them wrong!
I got the glowbull warming lecture about the disappearing ice fields from a ranger at Glacier Park a few years ago.
He was completely unfazed when I asked if just maybe the glaciers have been retreating since the Ice Age.
One of many great comments at the WUWT thread:
“In 2007, he received the National Medal of Science, the highest honor the United States bestows on an American scientist.
At the time, former vice president Al Gore said of Thompson: His tenacity through the years in countering disbelievers, coupled with the quality of his teams research from the very beginning, has shown us dramatically the effects we can expect in the near future.
His work is the most serious warning cry yet that it is time to change our ways, Gore said.
I’ve heard an alternate explanation for the reduction in the ice on Kilimanjaro has been increased agriculture upwind which has resulted in a drier climate at the mountain. Low humidity = less snow = smaller glaciers.
Are you sure it wasn’t the “Polar Vortex”?
NOBODY EXPECTS THE POLAR VORTEX!
We need a new term for political science, something similar to fiction.
The opposite of climate change deniers?
Global warming whores.
Policital Science Fiction.
Grant Whore Ping.
As to snow, we had a snowball fight with our kids about 3 miles from the equator in Kenya, near Timboroa Summit at an altitude of 9300 feet. There was about 4 inches of snow on the ground... and no film in the camera!
