An Alabama woman shot and killed a young man when he tried to break into her home, saying his car had broke down.
Mikel Steven Smith, 18, was reportedly armed with a knife when he tried to break into a home located in the Booth community, close to Prattville, WSFA reports.
He knocked on the door and tried to gain entrance by saying he needed help that he was broke down, Autauga County Chief Deputy Joe Sedinger told the station.
The poor boy just wanted a Arizona Tea and a bag of Skittles there was no need to shoot him. (sarc)

....And just how do you know? Are you privy to something everyone else isn’t in on?
Not playing Devil’s advocate. I would have shot the bastard too, but I wouldn’t pretend to know what would become of him in the afterlife, assuming there is a such thing. *
It was obvious not the last act of a Christian person.

Same problem in GA especially Atlanta area. Lots of home invasions. We have people skulking around our yard and house all the time.
My best friend had to confront 2 people in her kitchen about a year ago. This is a nice neighborhood too. So they moved about 1.5 miles down the road to a new neighborhood. A couple of mos ago somebody got in their kitchen late at night. She and her husband ran down stairs with the shotgun but the perps had already taken off.
Our neighbor’s wife got followed all the way home from Walmart recently by 2 guys. She called her husband on the way and he was waiting in the front yard with his 9MM when she drove up. The perps took off.
this is just the beginning. Its going to get much worse as things continue to devolve.
Yeah...and what was the house doing with the knife, anyway.
I love a happy ending
“She and her husband ran down stairs with the shotgun”
I applaud your friends, but based solely on your descriptions I would say that they should perhaps take a little more care not to give the dirtbags a free shot.
“Yeah...and what was the house doing with the knife, anyway.”
It was eating shoots and leaves.
Uh, in New Hampshire, if zombies are skulking around and you are confronting uninvited guests in your kitchen, your neighborhood is not what we call "nice".
lol!!

You are lucky. You don’t live in MLK central and illegal alien heaven on earth. Here there is no safety in the nicest of neighborhoods. You make your own safety.
Our in laws live in Berkely Hills Country Club and last Friday night somebody tried to kick in their boat door in the middle of the night. Fortunately they are armed and their son who is a personal trainer and former bouncer was staying there. He went after the perps with a baseball bat. I guess they took off running at the sight of him. I would. :-)
.32 caliber. Boom is not the right word.
Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Also, the clown was violating “thou shalt not steal,” and likely was thwarted from “thou shalt not murder.” Not to mention the declaration that unrepentant “sorcerers” shall swim the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8 and 22:15). “Sorcerers” is the Greek “pharmakeus,” and what’s being condemned is actually unrepentant drug users.
Thanks, I’ll re-read.
Not sure about FL laws. There may be a problem with this one.
Does FL allow party hunts?
;)
Stand your ground covers this one.
