Like anyone that lived back then, the very thought of two men or two women "getting married" would be the most repugnant thing they ever heard.

The behavior IS “deviant” as confirmed by:
1) The plumbing doesn’t work,
2) There is no natural purpose for the behavior.
3) 98% are NOT afflicted with this UNNATURAL desire.
If they can force YOU to promote and endorse their deviant behavior, they can more easily VICTIMIZE YOUR CHILDREN, when they are most vulnerable and their natural desires have not yet developed.
So when science discovers the cause of homosexuality, parents will be able to abort a fetus that has it. Science can solve all of our problems, can’t it?

As a red blooded American male, I am attracted to MANY women I meet, and yet I have managed to stay faithful to my wife for 20 years now.
What amazes me is that in America’s “self-improvement” culture - EVERYTHING is a choice. there are 1000 diets for fat people, if not, there is surgery. Don’t like your looks? There is plastic surgery. There is counseling and rehab for everything from alcohol to drugs to anger management. Movies stars even go to expenses clinics for sex-addiction.
But we are told - gays and their behavior simply can NOT be changed.
Undoubtedly, one of these daughters has discovered that one of her grandkids or relatives is “gay.” And now she must be gay-friendly. What a bore!
So they have the same broken moral compass as their vile father. Not surprised.

End all moral judgments over sexual pairings of ANY kind regardless of sex, age, relation, marital status, number, or species of partner(s).
They believe "abstinence" to be unhealthy as it "suppresses" sexual desires.
Theirs was the ilk that ushered in swinging and mate "swapping" parties. Open marriage and group marriage were also on their agenda items.

It is a “choice” when kids are being taught by instructors to “experiment” and “fantasize about who you’d like to be romantic with among ALL of your friends”.

Well, with LBJ, his position would surely have depended on his political calculus, and whether he saw political benefit in either one.
I don’t recall him being anything but a cutthroat socialist hack painfully aware of the polls and concerned for his place in history.
