A Congressional candidate running for the nomination to unseat House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) ignited an Internet firestorm when he appeared to go on a tirade against conservatives and the National Rifle Association Saturday night.
Mike Dickinson rejected support on a Twitter account appearing to belong to him from anyone who supports the NRA, is pro-life or participates in Obama hating.
Immediately following the string of tweets, Dickinson received immediate backlash online, with individuals turning to Twitter to offer their thoughts.
Despite the overwhelming reaction to the tweets, the self-described liberal Democrat did not appear to issue any apologies. In fact, on Sunday morning he appeared to respond to some criticism by continuing to mock the intelligence of those questioning him.
I went to engineering school and I support the NRA, one person tweeted him.
Went or graduated? RW has large college dropout rate, a tweet on the Dickinson account replied.
He is getting what he wanted - publicity and a way to stir up his base. What a tool.
What a creep. Language like that has no business in public debate. Another sign of the coarsening of our culture.
Of course, as one of the commenters below points out, Dickinson is probably playing to the far left base, who will eat that sort of slimy rhetoric up. Sad to say, but he’s probably helping himself more than hurting himself with his vulgar rants.
Cantor’s not my favorite pol, but I hope he mops the floor with this jerkwad on election day.
Yep, the Alan Grayson school of public relations.
Here is the post about Maher’s efforts at Alinsky demonization of Republicans and those who value our 2nd Amendment rights. I bet Dickinson sleeps with a gun under his pillow too. They are all hypocrits who use Alinsky tactics for their benefit.

Anyone who has the word “DICK” in any part of his name ought to choose his invective very carefully. Just sayin’ ;)
See, this is how I wish Republicans would campaign as. Be unapologetic and stand on your principles. Even though this clown is a fringe lunatic, this is smart politics. Conservatives don't support Cantor, and if there's another Republican running, he's going to stupidly distance himself from conservatism so he can appear as a moderate. This is why I'm glad De Blasio ran as a socialist. Finally, Democrats are dropping the false pretenses.
It is a shame because a democrat could win this seat if enough GOP voters decide to remove Eric Cantor by any vote necessary.

I suspect that the DNC sent this idiot out to say what they really believe, in exchange for some national Democrat campaign money. He is only repeating what Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi would like to say.
We need a 100 Democrat candidates like Dickinson. He’s a gift from heaven for Republicans, conservatives, independent and the few honorable Democrats who are in hiding (until election day).
As Bush would say, “Bring it on, Dickinson and clones”.
Let the Left show its true colors as Grayson has been doing lately. The worm is turning, and I don’t mean a little old earth worm. I’m talking about the big boys of “DUNE”.
And when they turn, they destroy the enemy. I like that.
Yup, those were some big worms.
Guess he’s earning the money Cantor is paying him...
I doubt he was getting much support from any of the groups he hated on, anyway. He’s attempting to play to the far left, without realizing that he’s cutting his own throat.
Mike, NRA people are trash? I could name call, too, but since I’m a gentleman, I can’t tell you what I would call you.
In fact at his website he barely admits to being a Democrat, tries to sound like a pro-business guy (until you get to his minimum wage stuff;) Also there is a disclaimer at his Facebook page about it not being connected with his campaign staff...
Hey, I’m a life member; so what does that make me?
I hope I rate something better than “pure trash”. Maybe like rancid trash?
