RAND PAUL TO CALIFORNIA REPUBLICANS: EVOLVE, ADAPT, OR DIE
Breitbart ^ | April 6, 2014 | GOP-e Sen. Rand Paul

Posted on 04/06/2014 5:43:23 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Evolve, adapt or die. That is the fate of our current Republican party. We must evolve as a party and find a way to attract millennials to the conservative movement or we will never succeed in realizing our ideals of individual freedom and freedom from government interference.

Initially, I received criticism from political pundits for speaking to non-traditional audiences. I was told it was a waste of time to reach out to these audiences, specifically students from both Howard University and University of California, Berkeley.

My response is this: I have never been one to watch the world go by without participating. I wake up each day hoping to make a difference.

You might be a Republican, Democrat or Independent. I speak before these audiences, not to preach or prescribe some special formula.

My intention is not to tell you what to be. You are more important than any political party or partisan pleadings. My intention is to motivate all Americans and defend their rights.

My hope is that in discussing these topics, more Americans will be open to the conservative message. A message that favors choice in education, a less aggressive foreign policy, more compassion regarding non-violent crime and encourages opportunity in employment.

As a conservative [*cough, *cough] politician, it is clear to me that we must start discussing these topics more with audiences that might not normally hear our message--specifically young adults and students.

Preaching to the choir is not working for the conservative movement. We are growing stale and moss-covered. We must evolve, adapt or die.

The party’s a mess but we don’t fix it by evolving, adapting and advancing the liberal agenda. We fix it by holding fast to conservative principles. Our founding Judeo-Christian principles! If the GOP ditches the traditional conservative platform and goes for this evolutionary squishy liberaltarian pap, I’m OUT!!

We need to go back to campaigning about freedom and liberty and what that means. Explain how it affects the lives of everyone. For our present pubbie party that indeed would be a sea change.

He endorsed the despicable Mitch McConnell; that was enough for me to “write him off”. Birds of a feather, flock together. He’s either one of the RINO birds or he’s a political whore.

Yeah, right. If you say so. Must be a new age Christian. Christians I know don’t go for the anything goes b/s. And Christians do believe in defending life, marriage, family, borders, country to the hilt!!

I don’t believe anything “new age Christian” about it. I’ve heard his Christian beliefs discussed on Christian radio by very conservative Christian commentators. Trust me, these commentators wouldn’t be considered new age Christians.

Personally, I’ve voted straight republican every election since my first vote for Ronald Reagan in 1980. I’ve had to hold my nose a lot of times since then.

I don’t agree with Paul on some things but I do on a lot of things.

To me, marriage isn’t defined by government. It was defined in the Bible. Homosexuals can claim or pretend to be married and the government can say they’re married, but that doesn’t mean I view them as married.

Rand Paul is clearly against abortion. That shouldn’t be distorted.

If Ted Cruz wins the nomination, I will gladly vote for him. If Sarah Palin wins the nomination, I will vote for her. If Scott Walker is the nominee, I will vote for him. There are several Republicans I would support. Rand Paul is likely one of them.

“A message that favors choice in education, a less aggressive foreign policy, more compassion regarding non-violent crime and encourages opportunity in employment.”

Anything wrong with that?

Abortionism, homosexualism, atheism, socialism; defeatism, open borders, free condoms, free drugs, etc.. is what we have now because republicans are too incompetent to win elections.

The traditional republican base is now made up mostly of white males near the end of their life expectancy. Rand Paul is right. If republicans can’t appeal to young people they are dead.

So I’ll ask again. What’s so terrible about this:

“A message that favors choice in education, a less aggressive foreign policy, more compassion regarding non-violent crime and encourages opportunity in employment.”

Baloney. Rand Paul can go to hell. We must not give up any of our beliefs. Rand would have the party as commie-lite if he were in charge. The more he talks the less I like.

I don’t believe in evolution. At all.

Amen! The crowd that pushes the junk "science" of AGW is the same leftist bunch totally on board with flawed theory of evolution. They're also the first in line to oppose fracking, domestic drilling and other pro-American, free enterprise activities. The Bible makes it abundantly clear:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. -- Genesis 1:1.

And that's all there is to it. Case closed, Chuck Darwin.

Rand Paul is one I will oppose, period.
His positions and actions prove him way to far to the left, and as with the recently zotted, SECURING THE BORDER IS CONSTITUTIONALLY MANDATED. Its not optional.
If you want to support candidates opposed to that you are far too leftwing for me.

I was told [criticized] it was a waste of time to reach out to these audiences, specifically students from both Howard University and University of California, Berkeley.

That wasn't criticism that was good advice. Conservatism deserving of the name will never be palatable to liberals and the low-info crowd. What to do about it? It's probably way too late for anything that would work.

Sen Cruz endorsed Sen Cornyn AFTER the primaries.

Randie Paul couldn’t wait to endorse Midge, and did so early on in the primary race.

Your cheap shot doesn’t fly.

“Sen Cruz endorsed Sen Cornyn AFTER the primaries.”

BS. Cruz donated money from his PAC to Cornyn BEFORE the primaries.

So if you donated money to Cruz, your money went to Cornyn.

Look it up.

It would be foolish of me to prefer the other candidate over Mitch because I don’t know enough about him. And unless you live in Kentucky, you probably don’t either. I don’t know the man’s history.

There may be a good reason Rand didn’t support him. I don’t know. Maybe he should have just stayed out of it? Maybe Cruz should have done the same?

Look I get on FR very often, don’t post much though. I am now 36 not 25 anymore, I have been extremely disappointed by the people comparing liberalism and libertarianism. I am not for gay marriage to use one of the examples, marriage is a covenant between one man, one woman and God. The civil liberties and powers associated with the socialization of the word marriage is where i differ with some on here. I do not care if two queers want to buy a house together or be next of kin for inheritance or hospital. I don’t think the govt has any business in the marriage laws or many other things. If it were up to me there are about 6 or 7 things the govt would do, and that would be it. Military, Highways, Courts (all LE should be sherriffs no city police,), and noone go hungry or with out med care

FURP!! I’ll fight against the slide into Gomorrah for as long as I breathe. I sure as hell will not merge with the evil side.

The young people will have a lifetime (and more) to regret their willingness to go along with evil. Of course, they’ve been brainwashed into the Godless, progressive, socialist, homosexualist, atheist, evolutionist, environmentalist mother earth mindset since birth and have never been exposed to the light so they had no way of knowing.

If you wish to reach out to them, reach out with the TRUTH! Not some go along with the flow program.

And for certain, don’t ask and don’t expect me to go along with it. Rand Paul can go straight to hell as far as I’m concerned.

“Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.”

Amen.

”We must not give up any of our beliefs”

He never said that.

Rand Paul is one of the most principled members of congress.

His voting record speaks for itself:

-100% rating from the National Right to Life Committee
-100% rating from the American Conservative Union

Just listen to his actual words and ignore the MSM propaganda. They are all out to destroy him because he is the strongest tea party candidate in the field and is standing in the way of Jeb`s coronation.
