The driver was beaten down because he was White; a Black would have encountered hostility, perhaps, but not a beat-down, IMO.

I do not agree. He was white, and one of "their" kids were injured. That is reason enough to kill him, and, of course, take his money, jewelry, phone, and tools, if they were really angry.
This is all on Obama. He has licensed this sort of behavior with his unwillingness to prosecute Black Panthers, etc. The “knockout game” is a precursor to race riots and a very hot summer.
