HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) A serial killer was put to death Thursday in Texas after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected his lawyers' demand that the state release information about where it gets its lethal injection drug.
Tommy Lynn Sells, 49, was the first inmate to be injected with a dose of newly replenished pentobarbital that Texas prison officials obtained to replace an expired supply of the powerful sedative.
Sells declined to give a statement. As the drug began flowing into his arms inside the death chamber in Huntsville, Sells took a few breaths, his eyes closed and he began to snore. After less than a minute, he stopped moving. He was pronounced dead at 6:27 p.m. CDT 13 minutes after being given the pentobarbital.

Sells entered the residence with intent to sexually assault the 13 year old. Sells slashed her throat and stabbed her multiple times, resulting in her death. Sells then slashed the throat of the 10 year old. The 10 year old survived the attack.
I wish those lawyers watched films of how he murdered that child. Had to watch them. Along with LEO’s who shoot dogs lawyers that defend these people belong in the same sewer. Sorry for the rant but every time I read where lawyers defend these killers just riles me up big time!!
Hell is too good for him.
Too bad they didn’t slash his throat. Can’t we outsource this?
Well phenobarbital will also do the trick and theres no way that drug is coming into a short supply
The “rest of the story” is t rule gruesome. This monster should have been executed by a multiple hatchet blows.
Ooops. “t rule” meant to be “truly.”
also dying from pentobarbital is probably one of the most painless way to die from
Bring back hangings
Bring back hanging.
The constitution prohibits cruel and unsusual punishment.
It does not guarantee a painless execution.
What makes you think the lawyers didn’t watch films of how he raped and murdered that little girl?
What makes you think they didn’t enjoy every minute and ask for a “copy to study” in private?
Or on the other hand, since this works so nicely, can’t we speed things up and do it a few years quicker?
Two others are scheduled for this month.

Yang Xinhai the “monster killer” a serial killer who truly was a monster who butchered 67 people was executed in less then a month after he was convicted.
He got way better than he deserved but how is this guy a ‘serial killer’?
Maybe 20 years quicker in some cases.A prolonged appeals process means that a lot of convicted murderers live longer on death row than their victims did before they were killed.
I vote for "castration by mallet," followed by "burned at the stake."
Sells is believed to have committed at least 22 murders. Retired Texas Ranger John Allen states, “We did confirm 22... I know there’s more. I know there’s a lot more. Obviously, we won’t ever know.”[2]
Sells has claimed he committed his first murder at age 16. While breaking into a house he discovered a man performing oral sex on a young boy, killing the man in a snap of rage.[3]
In July 1985, when he was 21 years old, Sells was working at a carnival in Forsyth, Missouri. He met Ena Cordt, 28, who had brought her 4-year-old son to the carnival.[4] Cordt invited Sells back to her home that same evening. According to Sells, he had sex with Cordt, but he awoke during the night to find her stealing from his backpack. Seizing her son’s baseball bat, he beat her to death. He also murdered her son because he was a potential witness. The bludgeoned bodies were found three days later, by which time Sells had left town.
Sells is also suspected as the perpetrator in the following crimes:
The murder of Suzanne Korcz in New York during May 1987[5]
The November 1987 murder of the Dardeen family in Illinois[6]
The murder of 11-year-old Melissa Tremblay in Lawrence, Massachusetts in September 1988
The murder of 13-year-old Stephanie Mahaney near Springfield, Missouri in 1997[7]
Killing a co-worker in Texas during April 1998
The murder of 13-year-old Katy Harris in Texas in 1999[8]
The sexual assault and murder of 13-year-old Haley McHone in Lexington, KY[9
