Yesterday, HB 388, the Unsafe Abortion Protection Act, authored by Representative Katrina Jackson (D-Monroe), passed through the Louisiana House of Representatives by a bi-partisan vote of 85-6. The bill had 50 Representatives join as co-sponsors. louisianawelcomeHB 388 has three main components:
The Act requires that abortion providers attain admitting privileges within 30 miles of a local hospital.
The Act clarifies that informed consent protections apply to not only to surgical abortion, but also RU-486 abortion.
The Act requires doctors who perform more than five abortions a year to maintain proper licensing.
Benjamin Clapper, Executive Director of Louisiana Right to Life, said the following about the vote:
“We are thrilled that the Louisiana House of Representatives overwhelming passed HB388 to protect the health and safety of women. This piece of common-sense legislation will ensure that women who may experience complications from a surgical or drug-induced abortion receive the best treatment available. We commend Rep. Jackson and the House for their action on this important piece of legislation, and we look forward to HB 388 becoming a part of Louisiana law.”
Next step: nullify Roe v. Wade - an invalid, unconstitutional decision - no Constitutional grounds or reasoning in opinion.
Supposed to close 3 of the 5 abortion clinics in Louisiana. The only ones remaining would be Shreveport.

Duh. A “doctor” who performs “more than five” abortions a year has to maintain proper licensing. Isn’t performing only one abortion practicing medicine and shouldn’t somebody who does even one be a properly licensed doctor? If somebody’s a lawyer he or she has to be properly licensed to represent even one client.
Somewhere in New Orleans my sister in law is convulsing at the news. I’ve never met someone who championed abortion like she does. She is all in for a woman’s right to kill.

5th Circuit Court of Appeals just confirmed a similar law in Texas. Liberals do not have the 5 votes on the Supreme Court to overturn, but Obama still has three years left in office and if Hillary gets elected you can bet that this will be overturned. Something worth reminding the folks who thought that there was no difference between Obama and Romney.
