But should not a socialist paradise have enough food for everyone?

Battling food shortages, caused by government policies the government is rolling out a new ID system that is either a grocery loyalty card with extra muscle or the most dramatic step yet toward rationing in Venezuela, depending on who is describing it.

Government in action. It's the same no matter where you go. Governments cause problems with their idiotic laws, and then rather than getting rid of the idiotic laws push more laws which of course almost always make the problesm worse.

I don't believe I've ever heard a politician ever say "our idea was fundamentally flawed, We'll have to get rid of it."

No, What they ALWAYS say is "We didn't go far enough."

Looks like they are on the same track as us.

ONLY thing you can do in life WITHOUT an ID card is VOTE.

Beginning to mean as much ‘here’ as ‘there’.
When they can’t or won’t purge rolls, take a head count and have absolutely NO accountability, ‘they’ are virtually taking the ‘voting rights’ of those that have AND EARNED them.

Deviancy Down. and Down and Down and Downer yet etc....

Contrary to popular belief, price gouging is good. Price controls are bad.

Obama is taking notes.

Well, not really - he is too lazy to actually do it himself.

he probably has a ‘Notes Czar’ to do it for him.

I don’t even think Venezuela is still oil-rich, as far as actual production goes.

Classic food cards and black market. Are they having a revolution or a war?

Checkout workers at Abastos Bicentenario were taking down customers' cellphone numbers Monday, to ensure they couldn't return for eight days. Shoppers said employees also banned purchases by minors, to stop parents from using their children to engage in hoarding, which the government calls "nervous buying."

"People who go shopping every day hurt us all," he said, drawing approving nods from the friends he made over the course of his afternoon slowly snaking through the aisles with his oversized cart.

What nonsense. This is not the fault of the shoppers. Get rid of the price controls, and return the stores and farms back to the private sector, and these problems will go away.

Now they will monitor how much food people are buying instead of repairing their broken system that caused the shortages
