Every jobs report has political significance given the extent to which Republicans and Democrats attempt to spin the numbers to their best advantage. But this Friday's March employment report is especially critical following the weak winter numbers and the impending midterm election season.
Democrats are fervently hoping that the lackluster reports over the last three months were mostly the result of a brutal winter that delayed construction projects and slowed other industries that might otherwise have hired more workers.
Most analysts right now agree that is probably the case. The consensus forecast for Friday's jobs number is 200,000 with the unemployment rate ticking down to 6.6 percent from 6.7 percent.

No one in the nation believes the figures these liars ladle out each month. They are as phony as the ObamaCare guesstimates they are publicizing today. When the whole Big Government bubble collapses, no one will be surprised.
It will be an “unexpectedly” poor report.
One stellar jobs report, coming right up!!
“No one in the nation believes the figures these liars ladle out each month. “
I disagree. I believe there are people that stupid. Obama in office should be proof enough.
“No one in the nation believes the figures these liars ladle out each month.”
Yep, most people know when they are unemployed.
If they need a stellar report, it will be produced.
If ever the real numbers are released, katy bar the door.
The lies just keep on coming.
Well, guess it depends on who’s doing the counting...
gonna be an “unexpected” surprise comin’ I reckon
Wasn’t it Goebbels who said,’if you tell a lie often enough and enough people hear it, it becomes the truth’ (paraphrase)
I’ve got some bad news for them. Construction projects aren’t going to bail them out.
We’ve had a LONG HARD winter here in the Midwest. There are still some construction sites sitting idle. We had a frost line reaching 5 FEET for crying out loud.
I don’t think any economic reports matter. Imagine FDR and LBJ discussing current events. LBJ TO FDR, LBJ: “How did this negro outdo what we tried to do beyond anything we could of hoped for?” (Thats not racist on my part LBJ said he was gonna make the negros vote Democrat for generations).
Obama created a majority dependent class of people beyond what FDR and LBJ ever dreamed of. It doesn’t matter how bad things get, Democrats and Democrat Republicans will hold power for the immediate future.
The mere existence of media like MSNBC proves that everyday.
Good Luck....
Last line of this puffff piece So there is at least an outside chance that Democrats could lose by winning.
At least Ben explains that Shucks Shummer is going to lie once again and blame Republicans.
The LA Times. Look what they did for obummercare enrollment.
